Happy New Year 2009!

Confidens hoc ipsum, quia, qui coepit in vobis opus bonum, perficiet usque in diem Christi Iesu. (Philippians 1:6)

Felix Annus Novus MMIX vobis sit!

I wish you all, my dear readers and blog followers, a Happy New Year - a very happy and healthy 2009 filled with love, prosperity and success!

Have confidence in our common future!

God Bless you all in the glorious and Holy name of Jesus Christ!

"Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place", see 2 Corinthians 2:14.

Slovakia Introduces The Euro

(Matthew 17:26 - 27)

The Eastern European country of Slovakia becomes the 16th member of the Euro-zone on January 1st.

In 2009 Slovakia trades in the national currency - the koruna - for the Euro.

Deutsche Welle says Slovakia has had a long and painful path to Euro adoption - fiscal reforms introduced by the previous centre-right administration were deeply unpopular - but now the small Central European country, which joined the E.U. in 2004, could be about to reap the benefits of security at a time of great financial turmoil.

After the Euro introduction on 1st of January 2009, it will be possible to pay cash besides Euro banknotes and coins also with the koruna banknotes and coins until 16th of January 2009. However, change will only be given back in Euros.

Belgium Has A New Prime Minister!

Ergo dum tempus habemus, operemur bonum ad omnes, maxime autem ad domesticos fidei. (Galatians 6:10)

Belgium's King Albert II has appointed a new Prime Minister - Herman Van Rompuy - leader of the Flemish Christian Democrats, succeeding Yves Leterme, who resigned on 19 December.

Leterme's government collapsed amid a scandal over the rescue of Fortis bank.

PM Van Rompuy is the formerly speaker of Parliament, and the new government was presented to King Albert II on Tuesday evening.

It comprises the same five parties that had made up Mr Leterme's government.

BBC reports Van Rompuy is an old-style Belgian politician, favoring compromise over confrontation, but that he will need all his skills of negotiation to keep this new government together beyond next year's regional elections.

In the statement read this morning in the Chambers, Prime Minister Herman Van Rompuy said the government wants to work to restore public confidence in the institutions at this time of crisis. It also intends to implement in full, the agreement of the previous government, according to Le Soir.

Van Rompuy, 61, has long resisted taking the premiership, but is seen as a safe pair of hands, after successfully cracking down on public debt as budget minister in the 1990s.

Belgium is expected to have slipped into recession in the fourth quarter of this year, and fighting the economic downturn will be the 61-year-old’s main challenge.

Van Rompuy will also have to show sensitivity in handling the strained relations between Flanders, Belgium’s richer, more populous, Dutch-speaking region, and its Francophone area.

After saying he did not want to replace Leterme, Van Rompuy appears to have given in to pressure from fellow Flemish Christian Democrats, who feared liberals might otherwise insist on the return of former Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt.

Pope Benedict XVI Plans To Visit Israel

Et intrantes domum invenerunt puerum cum Maria matre eius, et procidentes adoraverunt eum; et apertis thesauris suis, obtulerunt ei munera, aurum, tus et murram. (Matthew 2:11)

Reuters reports that Cardinal Walter Kasper, in charge of the Catholic Church's relations with Jews, said a trip to the Holy Land by Pope Benedict XVI, could help overcome "prejudice and incomprehension", marking Catholic-Jewish relations.

Pope Benedict XVI was elected the Catholic Church's 265th Pope on April 19, 2005, after the death of his popular and long-serving predecessor, John Paul II.

Despite his quiet demeanor, Pope Benedict XVI has not shrunk from controversy even outside the Church. In 2006, he enflamed Muslims in a speech in which he quoted a Byzantine emperor as calling Islam "evil and inhuman".

But Pope Benedict XVI, an old-school European intellectual, does not fit seamlessly into the American model of conservatism, though American conservatives are among his strong supporters, heartened by his opposition to abortion, divorce and "anything-goes" multiculturalism.

For instance, Pope Benedict XVI opposed the war in Iraq, rejects the death penalty, denounces the excesses of capitalism, and focuses strongly on helping the poor and immigrants.

Rabbi David Rosen, International Director of Interreligious Affairs for the American Jewish Committe said recently that "The Catholic Church's theological position on the Jewish people is a work in progress".

Rosen said: "There are differing approaches today within the Church regarding the Jewish people. There are those who say that Catholics should pray, if not work, for the eventual conversion of Jews as a condition for their salvation".

Rosen continued: "Others argue that the Jews, unlike other religious faiths, have a unique position. They say that the Church needs to affirm the integrity of the Jewish people as a vehicle for God's plan of redemption for humanity and that Jews have an ongoing vitality and purpose in God's design".

The visit to Israel by Pope Benedict XVI, comes at the right moment, and is desirable, and will show the world that we Christians support Israel, and especially when considering the 1600 rockets, which recently have been launched against Israel from Gaza.

"Si quis loquitur, quasi sermones Dei; si quis ministrat, tamquam ex virtute, quam administrat Deus, ut in omnibus honorificetur Deus per Iesum Christum: cui est gloria et imperium in saecula saeculorum. Amen", 1 Peter 4:11.

The Lipstick Effect Is In Full Swing

Erit autem: omnis anima, quae non audierit prophetam illum, exterminabitur de plebe. (Acts 3:23)

The Lipstick Effect says that consumers will indulge in less-expensive feel-good items in uncertain economic times.

Economists believe that during hard times, rather than lose the spending habit, consumers simply trade down to cheaper items to cheer themselves up.

According to the Guardian, the "lipstick effect" can be traced back to the Great Depression of the 1930s.

In the four years from 1929 to 1933, industrial production in the U.S. halved, but sales of cosmetics rose.

The ladies realize that if they are to get any money at all, in tough economic times, they must try to charm a handsome gentleman, and lay their hands on his wallet.

The best way for that are hot passionate kisses and a big dose of sex.

Lipstick is the first step of their instinctive behavior.

After the 9/11 attacks on the U.S., sales of lipstick doubled.

The "lipstick effect" shows up in stock market performance, with the European personal products sector outperforming the broader market by an average of 100% in each of the three past recessions of the early 1980s, early 1990s and early 2000s.

Dhaval Joshi, analyst with RAB Capital, said that the recent sales figures from the world's big cosmetic companies - L'Oréal, Beiersdorf, and Shiseido - confirm that the so-called lipstick effect has returned, as the global economy has headed into its first synchronized downturn since the early 1980s, with consumers increasing their spending on cosmetics even while economizing on everything else.

Joshi said: "The European personal products index is an excellent proxy for the global cosmetics sector because it is dominated by L'Oréal and Beiersdorf. So far in the downturn, this index has already outperformed the broader market by 45%".

Anger Over Ahmadinejad's Christmas Message

Et Verbum caro factum est et habitavit in nobis; et vidimus gloriam eius, gloriam quasi unigeniti a Patre, plenum gratiae et veritatis. (John 1:14)

The Christmas message delivered by Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for Channel 4 in the U.K. drew a wide range of critics last week, according to Haaretz.

Israel's Ambassador to London, Ron Prosor, branded the Christmas message a "sick and twisted irony".

He continued: "In Iran, converts to Christianity face the death penalty. It is perverse that this despot is allowed to speculate on the views of Jesus, while his government leads Christ's followers to the gallows".

The Ambassador added that the broadcast was a "scandal and a national embarrassment", which showed that Channel 4 had "lost its ethical way in the search for ratings and shock factor".

I agree.

The decision to allow Ahmadinejad to deliver the alternative Christmas message, something Channel 4 has done for 15 years, to provide a "light-hearted touch" to Christmas Day, also sparked anger in Israel.

Myself, I am happy the government of Prime Minister Gordon Brown criticized the decision by Channel 4.

A British Foreign Office spokesman said: "President Ahmadinejad has during his time in office made a series of appalling Anti-Semitic statements".

Dorothy Byrne, Channel 4's head of news and current affairs, defended the decision to broadcast the message: "As the leader of one of the most powerful states in the Middle East, President Ahmadinejad's views are enormously influential. As we approach a critical time in international relations, we are offering our viewers an insight into an alternative world view".

The President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, Henry Grunwald, which represents the Jewish community in the U.K., expressed his offence at the Christmas Day message.

According to Christian Today Henry Grunwald said: "To invite him to deliver a Christmas message, even a so-called alternative one, fills me with disgust".

Luckily, we Christians know what the Lord Jesus Christ stands for.

Christ said: "I and my Father are one", see John 10:30. Christ also said: "he that hath seen me hath seen the Father", see John 14:9.

Christ supports the notion of Greater Israel, see Acts 1:6, and demands obedience since He is the Father and God of Israel, see Matthew 28:18 - 20, Mark 12:29, and Luke 19:27.

If Christ were on Earth today He would say to Israel's enemies: "Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels", see Matthew 25:41.

If Christ were on Earth today He would - as He is the God of Israel - afterward slay the rest of His foes, see Revelation 19:21.

"All Israel shall be saved", see Romans 11:26.

Christ was not a wimp. But Jesus Christ was even more courageous than the Two Witnesses, who gladly will die in Jerusalem, and be resurrected to eternal life, for the confession that Jesus Christ is the Lord God Almighty, see Revelation 11:3 - 15, and compare with John 8:58, and Revelation 1:8.

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ", see Titus 2:13.

"Ait illis: 'Quae impossibilia sunt apud homines, possibilia sunt apud Deum' ", Luke 18:27.

Israel: Air Attacks Response To Hamas Rocket Fire

Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
(Romans 8:31)

Should we Christians close our eyes while Israel is wiped off the map, as the Vatican proposes?

No, of course not!

For years Israeli civilians have been targeted by Kassam rockets and mortars.

Now, Israel is finally destroying the terror bases it never should have allowed in the first place.

If Israel's government had not responded militarily to all incoming rockets and bombs from Gaza and the West bank, then it would have acted criminally and irresponsible toward its civilian population.

The day after Israel handed over Gaza to the Palestinians in 2005, the Palestinians fired rockets at Israel, trashed the place, and have ever since used Gaza as a launching pad for rockets against Israel.

Why does the international community support the Palestinians illegitimate war against Israel?

Even PM Gordon Brown in the U.K. now asks for a two state solution in Israel.

Why should Israel be nice to evil people or reward its enemies?

Would Gordon Brown give away half of the U.K. to his friends?

Would Gordon Brown give away half of the U.K. to people who killed and hammered the civilian population in the U.K. with 60 rockets per day?

Trust me, if Israel gives away half of its territory to these terrorists today, then these terrorists will start to hammer both Europe and the U.S. with rockets, until they get half of it.

And if they get the first half, they will continue with their terror and demand what is left the next day!

There is only one answer to terrorism: and that is destruction!

Today the Palestinians - who in fact occupy greater Israel - have faced some angry Israelis in Israel.

And soon the remaining Palestinians and the other enemies of Israel - who occupy greater Israel - will face the total anger of the angry God of Israel Himself!

"Sicut dilexit me Pater, et ego dilexi vos; manete in dilectione mea", John 15:9.

The European Parliament Undermines Democracy

Sequenti autem nocte, adsistens ei Dominus ait: Constans esto! Sicut enim testificatus es de me Hierusalem, sic te oportet et Romae testificari. (Acts 23:11)

The Brussels Journal reports, that Wednesday one week ago, the European Parliament dealt a significant blow to freedom of speech when it informed one of its members, Gerard Batten from the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP), that he was not allowed to have Wilders show Fitna in the conference room, which had been reserved in the parliament building in Strasbourg for a conference on the "threats to democracy in Europe".

The Speaker of the European Parliament, Hans-Gert Poettering, a German Christian-Democrat, referred to a decision taken last March by the Conference of Presidents, the leaders of the various political groups in the Parliament, "not to offer any space in the European Parliament" for Wilders’ movie which it called "a movie on caricatures on Islam".

The deep disrespect the Speaker of the European Parliament shows the victims and the families of Muslim terrorism is incredible.

Obviously Europe is still ruled by the same uncivilized pesants, who ruled the Third Reich half a century ago! Shame on you, Hans-Gert Poettering, and on your followers!!

We need conservative European Parlamentarians, who stand up for Christian values, Democracy, and the European civilization!

Reacting to the ban on Fitna, which has already been shown in the Danish Parliament, and which will also be shown in the House of Lords in London next January, Batten said that the decision was unprecedented.

By its decision to ban the showing of a controversial, though politically relevant, movie it appears the European Parliament is making a caricature of itself.

It is the soldier, not the Priest, who protects freedom of religion; the soldier, not the journalist, who protects freedom of speech.

We must require of our European parlamentarians that they at least show some decency, and do something to defend our free and open society, other than defend their own outrageously high salaries!

Wilders' Fitna is produced at a time, when the real atrocities of the Islamic ideology still are rather unknown outside of where they regularly occur.

There is widespread denial, across the political spectrum, of Islam’s threat to our Western civilization.

The war of terrorism has just begun, and the worst is still yet to come.

Although the film says that nothing is inevitable, and in particular that the inevitable can be avoided, simply by deciding to ban the Koran, will Wilders' message be understood at this crucial moment, or is it already too late?

In March the E.U. attacked Wilders for daring to exercise his freedom of expression.

The E.U.'s Presidency then released a statement condemning the film for "inflaming hatred".

Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende issued statements claiming that the film "serves no other purpose than to cause offense".

Then, too, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon blasted the film as "offensively anti-Islamic".

But I think we should support Geert Wilders in fighting Islamic fascism.

In Fitna, the outspoken legislator shows how verses of the Koran are used by jihadists to justify the most heinous acts of mass murder and hatred.

As Caroline Glick wrote earlier this year in her column in the Jerusalem Post: "While arguably, but not necessarily, inflammatory, Wilders' film serves as an invitation to Europe and to the Islamic world to hold an open debate.

I agree with Caroline Glick's statement that: "As in Europe, so too in Israel, the left goes to extraordinary lengths to undermine democracy in the name of democracy".

Islam rejects national sovereignty based on secular state models; it seeks to extend its reach to wherever significant populations profess the Muslim faith.

Since neither the international system nor the internal structure of existing states has legitimacy in Islamist eyes, its ideology leaves little room for Western notions of freedom and democracy, or for the security and well-being of modern industrial states.

By squelching debate - out of loathing for its non-leftist political opponents and out of fear of jihadists and the regimes that promote them - the European Parliament undermines not only its own values and European democracy, but it also undermines the non-jihadists of the Islamic world, who, if ever empowered, would work to promote a form of Islam that does not respond to challenge with violence, but rather with the discourse of reason and mutual respect for differences of opinion.

Gunman In Santa Suit Kills At Least 6 At Christmas Party

Ego autem dico vobis: Diligite inimicos vestros, benefacite his qui oderunt vos, et orate pro persequentibus et calumniantibus vos. (Matthew 5:44)

An 8-year-old girl was shot in the face at a Christmas party as she opened the front door to a man dressed in a Santa suit, according to Los Angeles Times.

A man dressed as Santa Claus, opened fire at a Christmas Eve party and then set the house ablaze.

Bruce Jeffrey Pardo, 45, who had recently been divorced and is believed to have lost his job, knocked on the front door of a home owned by the parents of his ex-wife in Covina around 11:30 Wednesday night, said Police Chief Kim Raney.

Investigators said that about 30 people, among them many children, were inside the home celebrating on Christmas Eve when Mr. Pardo knocked on the door.

An 8-year-old girl ran to the door to answer Pardo's knock, police said. He shot her in the face, stepped into the house and began to fire indiscriminately with a semiautomatic handgun.

Moments later Mr. Pardo had doused the house in accelerant and then set it on fire, the police said.

This tragic event should make us reflect on peace as the most precious good to ask of the Lord, and to build with every effort, by means of concrete gestures of peace on the part of every man and woman of good will.

Merry Christmas!

Gloria in altissimis Deo,
et in terra pax in hominibus bonae voluntatis.
(Luke 2:14)

My wonderful readers, faithful blog followers, and all the bloggers in the blogosphere - I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Hannukah!

We Christians celebrate the gift of eternal life at Christmas, see Romans 6:23, and Titus 1:2, which God has purchased for us, wrapped in with His love, and sent to us by the way of the Cross.

To get in the right Christmas mode, there are some outstanding Christmas songs definitely worth listening to; Adeste Fideles, All I Want For Christmas Is You, Silent Night, and White Christmas.

But Christmas is not only about the presence of Jesus Christ in our lives. It is also the celebration of His birth.

Pope Benedict XVI: Gays A "Destruction Of God's Work"

Et dixit: "Propter hoc dimittet homo patrem et matrem et adherebit uxori suae, et erunt duo in carne una". (Matthew 19:5)

IHT reports that Pope Benedict XVI in a Christmas speech said that "saving humanity from homosexual or transsexual behavior was just as important as saving the rainforest from destruction".

Pope Benedict XVI said: "The tropical forests do deserve our protection. But man, as a creature, does not deserve any less".

The Pope went on to say that the Church "should protect man from the destruction of himself".

The Catholic Church teaches that while homosexuality is not sinful, homosexual acts are.

The Catholic Church opposes gay marriage and, in October, a leading Vatican official called homosexuality "a deviation, an irregularity, a wound".

When it comes to gay relations, we are free to make our own decisions, according to Galatians 5:13.

But gay relationships are condemned as antisocial and unnatural in Romans 1:24 - 27, and must therefore be resisted by the Church.

To multiply is man's duty to God, compare with God's first command to man in Genesis 1:28.

Pope Benedict XVI said humanity needed to "listen to the language of creation" to "understand the intended roles of man and woman".

In the Gospel of Matthew 19:5 we see that the traditional couple relationship man-woman, in fact is the only intimate relationship Jesus considers to be acceptable.

The Pope is therefore right when comparing behavior beyond traditional heterosexual relations as "a destruction of God's work".

Pope Benedict XVI also defended the Church's right to "speak of human nature as man and woman, and ask that this order of creation be respected".

It is very courageous and responsible of Pope Benedict XVI to stick to the teachings of Jesus. And it will also help gays.

"Similiter autem et masculi, relicto naturali usu feminae, exarserunt in desideriis suis in invicem, masculi in masculos turpitudinem operantes et mercedem, quam oportuit, erroris sui in semet ipsis recipientes", Romans 1:27.

Belgium's King Albert II Accepts Government's Resignation

Humiliavit semet ipsum factus oboediens usque ad mortem, mortem autem crucis. (Philippians 2:8)

Belgium's King Albert II has accepted the resignation of the Belgian government, opening the way for negotiations to form a new coalition.

The King's decision ends three days of closed-door negotiations that began last week when the government of Prime Minister Yves Leterme offered to step down.

It is likely the leading political parties will now seek to broker a coalition without immediately calling for new elections.

Yves Leterme only took office in March, nine months after a general election had resulted in political deadlock founded in tensions between Flemish and Walloon groups.

PM Yves Leterme's offer to step down followed allegations from the Supreme Court that the government sought to interfere in a court case on the bailout of the troubled Fortis bank.

BBC reports Fortis bank has been one of the European banks hardest hit by the credit crunch, leaving it desperately short of cash.

The government was forced to take over and sell nearly all of the company's assets.

Hundreds of thousands of investors were left with virtually nothing and so began a successful legal action effectively preventing the asset sale.

Earlier this month, the Brussels Appeal Court ruled in favor of the shareholders and froze the sale of most of Fortis to France's BNP Paribas, which was supposed to have been finalized this week.

Last week, Belgium's Supreme Court President said there were "undoubtedly significant indications" that members of the Belgian government had attempted to influence the outcome of the court case.

Stolen Identity: Is Barack Obama Actually Osama Bin Laden?

Adtendite a fermento Pharisaeorum, quod est hypocrisis. Nihil autem opertum est, quod non reveletur, neque absconditum, quod non sciatur. (Luke 12:1 - 2)

Hal Turner suggests in his blog, that the American people has been manipulated into electing Osama Ben Laden new American President, under the disguise of Barack Hussein Obama.

Hal Turner writes:

"They pulled-off the attacks of 9-11 and many of you actually believed:

1) A guy named Osama Bin Laden, wearing a filthy rag on his head, orchestrated the attacks from some cave in Afghanistan, AND;

2) The most powerful air force in the world couldn't intercept a couple hijacked planes before they hit the twin towers, AND;

3) A plane hit the Pentagon even though there was no plane wreckage (NONE. No seats, no engines, no landing gear. . . . nothing),

Yes, you swallowed 9-11 hook-line and sinker.

So, the powers-that-be asked themselves, if we have a population this gullible, what could top 9-11t? They came up with election 2008!".

If Hal Turner is right, then not only America, but the whole world stands infor huge problems.

Hal Turned said:

"You proved to be such complete dimwits that you actually voted for what appears to be the very "terrorist" you were told perpetrated 9/11 and, were too stupid to see it even though it was right in front of you! Take a look!".

Hope was a key word in the campaign of the newly elected U.S. President Barack Obama.

Americans and citizens around the world were stirred by Obama’s oratorical prowess and his vision of change.

Hal Turner's powerful imagination is incredible. But if Obama's identity indeed is stolen, then there will be greater changes than we all can imagine!

Iran And China Send Warships To Somalia

Altera die videt Iohannes Iesum venientem ad se et ait: "Ecce agnus Dei, qui tollit peccatum mundi". (John 1:29)

Radio Netherlands reports that Iran's state radio says an Iranian warship has arrived in the Gulf of Aden to protect Iranian vessels against Somali pirates.

Iran said last month it was negotiating with pirates who had a seized a ship, but warned it was ready to use force to free the vessel.

The Hong-Kong registered Delight, carrying a crew of 25 and 36.000 tons of wheat, was headed for the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, when it was hijacked near Yemen.

China has confirmed it is also sending three warships to Somalia as part of international efforts to fight piracy.

It is the first time Communist China has deployed its navy outside Chinese waters. Somali pirates have already seized more than 100 ships this year alone.

Numerous countries, including the United States, Belgium, France, Greece, Liberia, and South Korea, have all indicated a willingness to send or have already sent warships to the region.

Belgium: PM Yves Leterme Proposes Resignation

Omnis anima potestatibus sublimioribus subdita sit. Non est enim potestas nisi a Deo; quae autem sunt, a Deo ordinatae sunt. (Romans 13:1)

Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme proposes the resignation of his government to the Belgian King, Albert II, who may accept or refuse it, following allegations of pressure on magistrates in the rescue efforts of the Fortis Bank, according to Het Laatste Nieuws.

It started with the resignation of Jo Vandeurzen, the CD&V Minister of Justice and Institutional Reforms.

This is the third time in just over a year, that Yves Leterme went to the Royal Palace to submit his resignation to the King.

The Belgian Prime Minister proposed that the government resigns, after damning accusations that it tried to persuade judges not to block the break-up of Fortis bank.

Leterme is officially still the Prime Minister of Belgium, because the King has to accept his resignation.

Under Belgium's constitution the King must decide whether to accept the resignation, but it looks increasingly likely that this may be the end of the road for the hard-working Flemish politician and former Minister-President of Flanders.

Yves Leterme must be Europe’s unluckiest Prime Minister.

It took Leterme nine months to form a coalition government in March, because of hostilities between rival MPs.

When Leterme then tried to resign i July, he was turned down by Belgian King Albert II.

Ghislain Londers, the President of the Belgian Supreme Court, sent a letter to the Speaker of the Parliament on Thursday, which condemns PM Leterme.

Deputy Prime Minister Laurette Onkelinx said on Thursday night, after an eight-hour crisis Cabinet meeting: "We have rarely seen anything like this in any country. The pillars of democratic power are accusing each other, almost mutually".

Onkelinx added: "Those who have done wrong must clearly take their responsibilities".

Times Online explains that the Belgian Government is locked in a legal battle with minority shareholders of Fortis - a banking and insurance group - over the sale of its Belgian assets.

Fortis was hastily dismantled in October as its shares nose-dived, with the Dutch state taking over its Dutch banking and insurance assets, and the Belgian government taking over its Belgian banking business.

In an attempt to secure the long-term viability of Fortis and the Belgian banking system, PM Leterme orchestrated the sale of most of the group's Belgian assets to BNP Paribas.

But in the case brought by shareholders, the appeal court ruled on December 12 that they should have been consulted on the break-up.

It stopped the sale for 65 days, leading BNP Paribas to state that the deal could not go ahead at the moment.

Yves Leterme seemed to win the backing of his Cabinet after its marathon session which broke up at midnight on Thursday, but finally threw in the towel after a damning report from the Supreme Court.

The Archbishop Of Canterbury: Gordon Brown's Spending Plan Like "Drug Addiction"

Si vero ex Deo est, non poteritis dissolvere eos, ne forte et Deo repugnare inveniamini, consenserunt autem illi. (Acts 5:39)

Archbishop Rowan Williams said the credit crunch was a welcome "reality check" for a society that has become driven by unsustainable greed.

Let us hope the U.K. Government not will be held hostage by spendaholics.

The Archbishop of Canterbury branded Gordon Brown's plans to boost spending as like an "addict returning to the drug", in the Telegraph.

Dr Williams expressed concerns over the Prime Minister's "fiscal stimulus" package, which includes cutting VAT to get the public spending again.

Questioned on whether increased spending was the right way to tackle the downturn, he said: "It seems a little bit like the addict returning to the drug".

"When the Bible uses the word 'repentance', it doesn't just mean beating your breast, it means getting a new perspective, and that is perhaps what we are shrinking away from".

The Archbishop added: "It is about what is sustainable in the long term and if this is going to drive us back into the same spin, I do not think that is going to help us".

The Archbishop called on the Government to give more of a lead on "how the civil society is created".

He said people should not "spend to save the economy", but instead spend for "human reasons" - to provide for their own needs.

Interviewed on BBC Radio 4's Today program, the Archbishop insisted the country had been "going in the wrong direction" for decades, by relying on financial speculation to generate wealth quickly, rather than "making things".

The Archbishop said the U.K. has backed itself "into a corner", and must now rediscover "patience" and re-think the way it views material gain.

Asked whether that meant the global financial crisis wracking the economy had been beneficial, Dr Williams replied: "It is a sort of a reality check, isn't it - which is always good for us. A reminder that what I think some people have called fairy gold is just that - that sooner or later you have to ask: 'What are we making or what are we assembling or accumulating wealth for?' ".

The Archbishop's comments came as he delivered a scathing assessment of "moral" failings in Britain's economy, asking where the moral questions are in the economic discourse.

Dr Williams concluded: "I would like to think that in this sort of crisis people would be reflecting more on how you develop a volunteer culture, how you develop a culture of people willing to put their services at the needs of others so that there can be a more active, a more vital civil society".

During the day Gordon Brown hit back over Rowan Williams' economic attack.

The head of the Church of England's outspoken thoughts prompted Downing Street to say the Government cannot "walk by on the other side" when people are suffering.

Gordon Brown, the son of a Church of Scotland Minister, has frequently spoken of his "moral compass", and the role his faith plays in his politics.

Asked about Dr Williams' remarks at a Downing Street press conference later on Thursday, the Prime Minister appeared to refer to the parable of the good Samaritan in rejecting the Archbishop's assessment.

Brown said: "I support what he says about a strong civil society and the need for responsibility and the need to act against irresponsible behavior when it appears in the banking and financial systems as it has in recent times".

Brown added: "But I think the Archbishop would also agree with me, that every time someone becomes unemployed or loses their home or a small business fails, it is our duty to act and we should not walk by on the other side when people are facing problems. That's the reason why our fiscal policy is designed to give real help to families and businesses and to give them that help now".

The story of the good Samaritan is told in Luke 10:25 - 37.

The first person who "passed by on the other side" and ignored the stricken traveller was "a certain Priest", see Luke 10:31.

The spat between the Prime Minister and the Archbishop came as official figures showed that collapsing tax revenues and rising benefits payments have pushed the Government finances to a record deficit.

The Archbishop suggested that the financial crisis is good for society, as it provides a "reality check" to irresponsible spending by spendaholics and get-rich-quick schemes, and may encourage a return to volunteering and charity.

But it does not seem, though, like the Archbishop makes a serious attempt to roll back unnecessary cost and expenses, borne by the taxpayers.

"Accidit autem, ut sacerdos quidam descenderet eadem via et, viso illo, praeterivit", Luke 10:31.

Sweden: Rock Throwing At Buses Up By 66 %

Quotquot autem receperunt eum, dedit eis potestatem filios Dei fieri, his, qui credunt in nomine eius. (John 1:12)

Rock throwing at buses, in Sweden, has increased by more than 66% from 2007 to 2008, according to Dagens Nyheter.

The Brussels Journal signals this means that rock throwing is now increasing at an even faster rate than gang rapes of native girls.

Helena Reinhagen, Communications Manager at Busslink says: "Stone throwing has become a social problem. We try to cooperate with police, district administrations, transport authorities, and school informants to stop it. For something must be done. We can not accept what is happening".

Fjordman writes in The Brussels Journal: "Frankly, when looking at what Sweden and the rest of what once was the Western world has become in 2008, 'crackpot' springs more easily to mind than 'melting pot' ".

It is of course unsatisfactory that society's various functions for help and service now are attacked with increasing frequency.

There is obviously a problem, when more than half of the bus drivers are afraid to get objects thrown at the vehicle while driving, and when some of them are increasingly afraid to stay at their work.

Dubai Set To Open First Beach With Refrigerated Sand

Beati misericordes, quia ipsi misericordiam consequentur. (Matthew 5:7)

The Australian reports a luxury hotel in Dubai is about to open the world’s first beach with refrigerated sand so that well-heeled clients do not have to walk on hot sand while bathing.

The Palazzo Versace fashion house will have a network of pipes beneath the sand containing a coolant that will absorb heat from the surface.

The swimming pool will be refrigerated and there are also proposals to install giant blowers to waft a gentle breeze over the beach.

Soheil Abedian, founder and president of Palazzo Versace, said: "We will suck the heat out of the sand to keep it cool enough to lie on".

He added: "This is the kind of luxury that top people want".

The 10-storey hotel will have 213 rooms, several with their own internal swimming pools, plus 169 apartments. Fifteen more such hotels are planned.

Competition to serve the world's rich is getting intense, especially in Dubai.

The city already boasts the world's first seven-star hotel, the Burj Al Arab, while Armani, a competitor with Versace, is building a similarly branded hotel.

The refrigerated beach is designed to give Versace the edge in this battle of luxury lifestyles. The system will be controlled by thermostats linked to computers.

Rachel Noble, of Tourism Concern, said: "Dubai is like a bubble world where the things that are worrying the rest of the world, like climate change, are simply ignored so people can continue destructive lifestyles".

I think myself this is an excellent initiative for people who can afford that.

Who wants to walk on scalding sand?

Shoe-Hurling Journalist Hailed As Hero

Quam nemo principum huius saeculi cognovit; si enim cognovissent, numquam Dominum gloriae crucifixissent. (1 Corinthians 2:8)

Washington Post reports that in hurling footwear and insults at President Bush, Muntadar al-Zaidi expressed what relatives said were his own frustrations with American policy in Iraq and made himself into an overnight celebrity.

Saudi television reported a Saudi businessman offered to buy either of the shoes thrown at Bush for $10 million.

In a statement, Yaseen Majeed, a top media adviser to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, said, that Iraqi authorities have not charged Zaidi, but they have arrested him for "his aggressive actions against an official and a visitor of the Iraqi government".

On Sunday, at a news conference held by Maliki and Bush, Zaidi threw his shoes, one after the other, at the U.S. President, shouting, "This is a farewell kiss!". As Iraqi security guards converged on Zaidi, he yelled: "Dog! Dog!".

President Bush responded to the shoe-throwing by quipping that the shoes were "size 10", and joking to reporters: "I didn't know what the guy said, but I saw his sole".

Apparently, some misguided individuals think the shoe-thrower is a hero.

Users of the Facebook networking web site created groups in support of Zaidi, including one called: "I'm a fan of the great hero who hit Bush with his shoes in Baghdad", which had more than 9.000 members Monday night.

In Libya, a charity led by Moammar Gaddafi's daughter Aisha announced it would give Zaidi an award for bravery, and urged the Iraqi government to free him. "What he did represents a victory for human rights across the world", said the organization.

"The flying shoe speaks more for Arab public opinion than all the despots/puppets that Bush meets with during his travels in the Middle East", Asad Abu Khalil, a Lebanese American college professor, wrote in his blog, the Angry Arab News Service -

Nermine Gabaly, a 32-year-old homemaker, said with a smile: "The Iraqi reporter should not be penalized for doing this. He just expressed his emotions as an Iraqi citizen".

Maithan al-Zaidi said: "Muntadar has not joined any party or movement. Nobody paid him to do this. His love for Iraq made him do this".

In the southern city of Najaf, several hundred followers of Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr took to the streets Monday, describing Zaidi as a religious warrior. They threw shoes at U.S. military Humvees, but the Americans did not respond, witnesses said.

In Sadr's Baghdad stronghold of Sadr City, protesters burned American flags and chanted, "Bush, Bush listen well: We pushed you out with two shoes".

Zaidi's brothers said they had received scores of offers from lawyers to represent him. Iraqi politicians have also expressed their support, but Durgham said he was worried about his brother. "If in front of TV cameras, they are beating him, can you imagine what they are doing to him behind the cameras?".

Well, Muntadar al-Zaidi should have thought of the consequences, before hurling his shoes together with insults at President Bush.

Hitting someone with a shoe is a strong insult in Iraq. And calling someone a dog is also a strong insult.

There are more civilized ways to express your disagreement of opinion, than hurling shoes and insults at people.

As a journalist, Zaidi could for example have written a critical article in a newspaper.

Times Online reports that among those leaping up to support al-Zaidi, is Khalil al-Dulaimi, Saddam's former lawyer, who said he was forming a team to defend the journalist, and that around 200 lawyers, including Americans, had offered their services for free.

Saddam's former lawyer said: "It was the least thing for an Iraqi to do to Bush, the tyrant criminal who has killed two million people in Iraq and Afghanistan".

But there are also critical voices to the shoe thrower in the Arab world.

In The New York Times Abu Qasim, 47, said: "What this journalist did is an act of street kids, because he doesn’t know that without America, Saddam wouldn’t have fallen - not for tens of years".

But the American leftwing blogosphere cheers the Iraqi shoe thrower.

It's just like Donald Douglas said in his blog, kind of sickening, really.

The volatile situation in Iraq undoubtedly raises both questions and emotions.

"Et cum venerit ille, arguet mundum de peccato et de iustitia et de iudicio", John 16:8.

Pope Says End Of The World Not Nigh

Si ergo non vigilaveris, veniam tamquam fur, et nescies qua hora veniam ad te. (Revelation 3:3)

According to Times Online, Pope Benedict XVI said the end of the world is not nigh, when he spoke at a ceremony at which he blessed figures of the infant Jesus for Rome Nativity cribs.

The Pope is absolutely correct, because the world will never end, see Ephesians 3:21.

Last year Pope Benedict XVI dismissed recurring "Messianical" predictions of the imminent end the world, saying "history is ongoing, and involves human tragedies and natural calamities".

Pope Benedict XVI then added, echoing Pope John Paul II, his predecessor: "Do not be afraid".

I believe the return of Jesus Christ is at hand, and so is also the "great tribulation" of course, see Matthew 24:21, but this do not mean that the world will end.

Scientists also have models showing that when the world population approaches 7 billion people, it will decrease to maybe only 1 billion, by wars, famines, and natural disasters.

We should thus indeed be worried, and draw near to Christ, but at the same time be assured, because the world will never end, see Ephesians 3:21, and compare with Isaiah 45:17, and Ecclesiastes 1:4.

Iraqi Journalist Throws Shoes At Visiting President Bush

In omnibus gratias agite; haec enim voluntas Dei est in Christo Iesu in omnibus vobis. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

President George W. Bush flew under intense security to Iraq on Sunday.

An Iraqi journalist then threw shoes at visiting President Bush.

"All I can report is a size 10", Bush joked.

America will soon have a new President. I will miss President Bush's humor.

Exchange Guantanamo Bay Prisoners For Gilad Shalit!

Benedictus Deus Israhel,
quia visitavit et fecit redemptionem plebi suae.
(Luke 1:68)

The United States military base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, has been holding prisoners, from the invasion of Afghanistan, and the war on terror, since early 2002.

Some 250 extremely dangerous individuals are held at the Guantanamo base.

The detainees, are held in a legal limbo, with no clear future.

U.S. President-elect Barack Obama is expected to move swiftly to close the controversial site after he is sworn in as President, according to the EUobserver.

Portugal now urges the E.U. to shelter the Guantanamo prisoners.

Prisons are made for prisoners as both a punishment for their crimes, but also as a means to adapt to civil life's demands after their release.

In Belgium, prisoners are expected to be good Catholics after their release, and in Sweden they are expected to become good Lutherans, to take a couple of examples.

But with the Guantanamo Bay prisoners it is different, because they hate every inch of Western civilization in their hearts.

These prisoners clearly do not belong neither in America nor in Europe.

Since U.S. President-elect Barack Obama has declared he will close Guantanamo Bay, we must ask ourselves as Donald Douglas recently did: What will Obama do with the Guantanamo detainees?

My suggestion is that Barack Obama sends the Guantanamo detainees to the Middle East in exchange for another prisoner, the French citizen Gilad Shalit.

Anyone with the slightest inkling of 20th century French history, knows about the fall of France to Hitler's armies, in less than three weeks from the start of the German invasion on May 10, 1940.

The French - the "lost" Israeli tribe of Ruben - has always been a very weak and non combative people, so we should not expect the French to show any greater interest in freeing their citizen Gilad Shalit.

French politicians have also their hands already full integrating some 10 million Muslim immigrants to France.

When it comes to Israel and the Jews, we know that they are God's elect people, see Romans 11:1, but that without Jesus Christ they are unable to accomplish anything outstanding, see John 15:5.

We have however a promise that "all Israel shall be saved", see Romans 11:26.

The Lord said, when He sat in the Synagogue: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord", see Luke 4:18 - 19.

Now, Barack Obama has the opportunity - like a good Roman, sword in hand - to fulfill this portion of Jesus' words by exchanging the Guantanamo Bay prisoners for Gilad Shalit.

When it comes to this Jewish boy Gilad Shalit, we must of course also not neglect the human aspect. We are to be civilized and to not leave anyone behind in distress.

We know that next Catholic Pope will be the last one, meaning that the Church then will be finished. We also know that Islam likewise will be finished in the coming WWIII, when greater Israel will be established.

The New Testament says that our civilization never will end, see Ephesians 3:21, but that our present era as we know it, and the war against evil and Satan's throne at Pergamos, will continue for yet another 8.000 years, compare with Revelation 2:10 - 13.

By exchanging the Guantanamo Bay prisoners for Gilad Shalit, Barack Obama, will get rid of both the politically embarassing Guantanamo Bay Prison, and also of the detainees there we do not want on our soil.

This will at the same time help our Israeli ally, because no Israeli government will be popular or stand, as long as Gilad Shalit not is freed.

"Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place", see 2 Corinthians 2:14.

"Procident viginti quattuor seniores ante sedentem in throno et adorabunt viventem in saecula saeculorum et mittent coronas suas ante thronum dicentes:

'Dignus es, Domine et Deus noster,
accipere gloriam et honorem et virtutem,
quia tu creasti omnia,
et propter voluntatem tuam erant et creata sunt' ",

Portugal Offers To Shelter Guantanamo Prisoners

Mittet Filius hominis angelos suos, et colligent de regno eius omnia scandala et eos, qui faciunt iniquitatem, et mittent eos in caminum ignis; ibi erit fletus et stridor dentium. (Matthew 13:41 - 42)

The Belfast Telegraph reports that America is welcoming Portugal's offer to take in detainees from Guantanamo Bay.

The U.S. says it will need Europe's help to find sanctuary destinations for the 250 highly dangerous prisoners if it is to shut down the prison, but so far Algeria and Portugal are the only two countries to offer help.

U.S. President-elect Barack Obama is expected to move swiftly to close the controversial site after he is sworn in as President, according to the EUobserver.

Some 250 extremely dangerous individuals are still held at the Guantanamo base.

Around 40 of them are believed to face the potential threat of persecution and torture should they be returned to their home countries, nations where human rights abuses are common, such as Algeria, China, Libya, and Uzbekistan.

The Portuguese move has received a warm welcome from both the United States and human rights activists.

Washington described Portugal's call on the E.U. to house the individuals as "highly significant" and "a quite open challenge to the rest of Europe".

Human Rights Watch has called on other E.U. capitals to heed Lisbon's call.

Jennifer Daskal, a campaigner with the New York-based organisation, said: "For years, the U.S. has been unable to convince its European allies to accept Guantanamo detainees who cannot be sent back home. For the first time an E.U. government is publicly pushing to make that happen and others should echo Portugal's call".

Ewa Klamt, Germany, wondered earlier: "why should the E.U. be obliged to solve problems that the U.S did not want to resolve itself?".

The question what we should do with the very terrorists, who might seek to return to the battle of global terror and renew the fight against the Western democracies is open.

But we should remember that God's servant is an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer, see Romans 13:4.

Sending these illegal combatants to Guantanamo Bay was probably a favor to them. They are not POWs, and the Geneva Conventions do not apply to them at all.

Some extremely dangerous people might now be released, because of classified information that cannot be brought out in court.

It is true that the detention center at Guantanamo Bay gives an image problem for the U.S.

But President Bush's decision in the first place, to hold the terrorists indefinitely, as unprivileged enemy combatants for the duration of the conflict, was excellent.

When the Jews were going into the promised land, God instructed them to kill everyone, women and children and show them "no pity", see Deuteronomy 7:16.

Modern Christians have probably gone to far in the other direction.

"Subiecti estote omni humanae creaturae propter Dominum: sive regi quasi praecellenti, sive ducibus tamquam ab eo missis ad vindictam malefactorum, laudem vero bonorum", 1 Peter 2:13 - 14.

Most Big U.S. Banks Bankrupt

Adeamus ergo cum fiducia ad thronum gratiae, ut misericordiam consequamur et gratiam inveniamus in auxilio oportuno. (Hebrews 4:16)

Jim Rogers, one of the world's most prominent international investors, says to Reuters most of the largest U.S. banks are "totally bankrupt", and that government efforts to fix the sector are wrongheaded.

Rogers says: "Without giving specific names, most of the significant American banks, the larger banks, are bankrupt, totally bankrupt".

Rogers continues: "What is outrageous economically and is outrageous morally is that normally in times like this, people who are competent and who saw it coming and who kept their powder dry go and take over the assets from the incompetent. What's happening this time is that the government is taking the assets from the competent people and giving them to the incompetent people and saying, now you can compete with the competent people. It is horrible economics".

Many analysts cite Lehman's Sept. 15 bankruptcy as a trigger for the recent cratering in the economy and stock markets. Rogers calls that idea "laughable", noting that banks have been failing for hundreds of years. And yet, he said policymakers aren't doing enough to prevent another Lehman.

Fourteen Al Qaeda Terrorists Arrested In Belgium

Et praedicabitur hoc evangelium regni in universo orbe in testimonium omnibus gentibus; et tunc veniet consummatio. (Matthew 24:14)

A few hours from a European summit in Brussels, the Belgian police questioned, Thursday December 11, 14 alleged members of terrorist network Al Qaeda.

Gazing into CNN's cameras one suspect said: "It's the pinnacle in Islam to be the widow of a martyr. For a woman it's extraordinary".

Johan Delmulle, the Belgian federal prosecutor, declares that Belgium, or Europe, may have been the target for these suicide bombers, according to Le Monde.

The prime suspect had received the green light to carry out an operation which he felt he would not come back from and said goodbye to his family because he wanted to go to paradise with a clear conscience.

Investigators also analyzed a farewell videotape, which mentions the putting away of women and children to safety, which is the custom on the eve of attacks.

Le Soir reports that Delmulle said this information, related to the fact that the E.U. summit takes place today in Brussels, obviously left no other choice but to intervene today.

The head of the Judicial Police, Glen Audenaert, said that 242 policemen had taken part in 16 raids in Brussels, and one in Liege.

Are You Ready For The Amero?

Radix enim omnium malorum est cupiditas, quam quidam appetentes erraverunt a fide et inseruerunt se doloribus multis. (1 Timothy 6:10)

How safe is the U.S. dollar?

Hal Turner said a month ago that Amero coins are being minted secretly at the Denver Mint.

Hal Turner wrote on his blog a few days ago:

"Not a single American citizen has been officially asked if they want a new currency. Not a single member of Congress has voted on authorizing a new currency. Yet a new currency is already being printed and quietly distributed around the world. This is being done without the consent of the American people, without a vote by Congress and has been intentionally covered up by every official who has been questioned about it."

According to Hal Turner, the "Amero" is going to replace the U.S. Dollar, The Canadian Dollar, and the Mexican Peso.

Hal Turner suggests the U.S. government secretly prints the new Amero paper currency.

Hal Turner says: "the reason they are creating a new currency has to do with how they plan to get rid of our national debt".

Hal Turner continues: "This Amero currency will allow the government to literally grab 90% of all our life savings and owe 90% less than they presently do in one fell swoop! They get out of debt and the rest of us are left totally destitute. Broke. Busted. Poor. Helpless".

Newsweek Goes For Gay Marriage

Et dixit: "Propter hoc dimittet homo patrem et matrem et adherebit uxori suae, et erunt duo in carne una". (Matthew 19:5)

OneNewsNow reports that Newsweek's religion editor has written a story suggesting there's no biblical prohibition against homosexual "marriage".

In her article, Lisa Miller claims that "traditional marriage", as currently defined by moral and social conservatives today, did not exist in biblical times.

Actually Lisa Miller is wrong, because Jesus stated that marriage is between a man and a woman.

In Matthew 19:4 - 5 Jesus explains that marriage is between a man and a woman: "Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?".

And Romans 1:27 condemns men who are inflamed with lust for one another.

"And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet", see Romans 1:27.

Philip Powell answers Lisa Miller in his blog "When Idiots Do Theology":

"The question I would love to ask the writer is: if your thesis is true, why in 5,000 years of Judeo-Christian religious history has there never been a single instance of a same-sex 'marriage' being celebrated as exemplary for Christians and Jews? You would think that if scripture is pressing the point that love and fidelity are more important that the sex of the couple, then one very powerful way of showing this would be to give us an example of a loving, faithful same-sex marriage. Yet, none exist. And we must be careful not to confuse same-sex friendships (Jonathan and David) with sexually active, religiously recognized, sacramental marriages celebrated in the Bible".

It is clear that sodomy is contrary to God's will and that marriage is effected between, and only between, a man and a woman.

"Propter quod tradidit illos Deus in desideria cordis eorum in inmunditiam, ut contumeliis adficiant corpora sua in semet ipsis", Romans 1:24.

Third Day Of Violent Clashes In Greece

Ignem veni mittere in terram, et quid volo si accendatur? (Luke 12:49)

When I visited Athens in March earlier this year, in company with my daughter, Athens was a calm and serene city.

Athens is also the city, where I met Elijah the Tishbite, at the Omonia square, more than 18 years ago.

My life is interconnected with Greece, and one of my names is related to the Guardian Angel of Athens.

It is with sadness I follow the latest news from Greece, as the street violence in Athens threatens to spiral out of control.

In a third day of rioting, people clash with the police all over Greece - from Athens to Thessaloniki to Rhodes - and Greek Embassies and Consulates are also attacked and occupied all over the world.

The fatal shooting of a teenager in Athens, by a policeman Saturday night, is deplorable.

We should however not forget that all the brave policemen are hard working persons, with families, that put their lives at stake every day in order to protect the public.

To hurl fire bombs, stones, and molotov cocktails at the police, is not a solution to political problems.

And to burn businesses, cars, and hotels, is not acceptable either.

Many persons have been injured, and at least a dozen police stations have been damaged by demonstrators, hurling petrol bombs, stones, and bottles.

Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis said in a televised statement: "We will not tolerate unacceptable and dangerous events prompted by the tragic incident".

He is absolutely right.

All Greek citizens should be praying in Churches for the grievous times, which lay ahead of us, instead of throwing fire bombs and stones at public servants and buildings.

The old passport of my mother says: "BASILEION TIS ELLADOS - ROYAUME DE GRECE".

The time has come for The Kingdom of Greece to have its Monarchy restored again!

King Constantine II, the King of the Hellenes, made an abortive attempt to overthrow the generals, after a military junta had seized the political power in Greece.

When the coup failed, the King and his family fled into exile.

The junta declared Greece's King formally deposed in June, 1973, and established the modern Greek Republic, founded upon oppression, tyranny, and violence.

Today we see the ultimate tragic result of this Greek Republic, and therefore the Greek people now wants both freedom, peace, and the honorable King Constantine II back on his throne in Greece, together with the whole Greek Royal family back in Greece.

Denmark Faces Extinction!

Vox in Rama audita est,
ploratus et ululatus multus:
Rachel plorans filios suos,
et noluit consolari, quia non sunt.
(Matthew 2:18)

Mark Steyn writes in NRO on the causes of the terror attacks in Mumbai:

"Publish some dull cartoons in a minor Danish newspaper, and there’ll be protests around the planet. But slaughter the young pregnant wife of a Rabbi in Bombay in the name of Allah, and that’s just business as usual".

The world is silent about this horror, and thus accepts the murder of the young Rabbi and his pregnant wife, as legitimate.

Because of the world's silence concerning the atrocities committed against the Jewish clergy in Mumbai, I fear the worse for Denmark - the "lost" Israeli tribe of Dan.

Dan is namely omitted in Revelation 7:5 - 8.

"Habent super se regem angelum abyssi, cui nomen Hebraice Abaddon, Graece autem Apollyon, et Latine habet nomen Exterminans", Revelation 9:11.

Violent Riots In Greece

Dei enim minister est tibi in bonum. Si autem malum feceris, time; non enim sine causa gladium portat; Dei enim minister est, vindex in iram ei, qui malum agit. (Romans 13:4)

Athens and at least five other Greek cities have been hit by riots following the death of a teenager, shot by police.

It appears the dead teenager, was with a group, who were throwing stones at a police car.

The police opened fire, when one of them produced a molotov cocktail.

Athen's police said at least 24 policemen were left injured by the riots in the capital.

Many businesses and cars, have been burned or damaged.

Government officials, fearing more violence, swiftly condemned the shooting.

The police officer who fired the fatal shot has now been suspended from his duties.

Authorities are bracing for possible violence during a protest march in support of illegal immigrants set for Sunday afternoon.

Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis has refused to accept the resignations of interior minister Prokopis Pavlopoulos, and Panagiotis Chinofotis, the deputy interior minister.

It is a very sad thing that angry crowds now rampage through Athens and Greek cities, with molotov cocktails, because of political disputes.

Happy Saint Nikolaus Day!

Ita habes et tu tenentes doctrinam Nicolaitarum, quod odi similiter. (Revelation 2:15)

Saint Nikolaus Day is one of my favorite holidays.

Combining God's wrath with chocolate is the traditional way to start Christmas celebrations in Central Europe.

Anyone who has a good soul, has nothing to worry about. You have been nice, haven't you?

In some places Saint Nikolaus is accompanied by a shaggy monster with horns, black Peter.

An old story is that Saint Nikolaus liberated an Ethiopian slave boy called Peter from a Myra market, and the boy was so gracious he decided to stay with Saint Nikolaus as a helper.

Today, black Peter have become modern servants, who have black faces because they climb through chimneys, causing their skin to become blackened by soot, and holding chimney cleaning tools.

U.S. Supreme Court Swamped By Letters

Empti enim estis pretio magno, glorificate et portate Deum in corpore vestro. (1 Corinthians 6:20)

Hal Turner reports that the United States Supreme Court yesterday was deluged with a delivery of 6.682 FedEx packages, each containing nine (9) letters - one for each Justice.

The shipment including 6.682 FedEx packages of nine letters each was delivered before the court reviewed a case Friday challenging the eligibility of Barack Obama under Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution, which stipulates the position can only be filled by "a natural born citizen".

The U.S. Supreme Court was so deluged it actually delayed the court from operating yesterday!

Supreme Court Justices do not accept phone calls, faxes or e-mails from the public. They only accept written correspondence.

So, web site WorldNetDaily decided to host an effort to send letters to the court via Fed Ex - and their web site visitors came through!

No hospital in Hawaii have any record of Obama being born or mom ever being there.

Joseph Farah, WND’s founder and editor said: "If we didn’t do everything possible to let the Supreme Court justices know what a concern this is to millions of Americans, I would feel like I was letting down the Constitution and the men who framed it - not to mention every citizen of the United States living now and in the future".

Joseph Farah continued: "This constitutional eligibility test has become a key issue with me because if the plain language of the Constitution is no longer taken seriously by our nation’s controlling legal authorities, we have become an outlaw nation - no longer under the rule of law, but under the rule of men".

The U.S. Presidential election is apparently not over.

A few days ago I wrote the United States has begun an astonishing general mobilization of all retired or honorably discharged military members from all branches of the service.

One of the reasons has probably to do with securing the stability of the U.S., whatever the U.S. Supreme Court decides.

Russian Orthodox Patriarch, Alexy II, Dies

Et ait: "Ecce video caelos apertos et Filium hominis a dextris stantem Dei". (Acts 7:55 (56))

The Moscow Times reports that Alexy was born Alexei Mikhailovich Ridiger on Feb. 23, 1929, in Tallinn, the capital of then-sovereign Estonia.

Alexy's father, a Russian of Swedish descent, had emigrated in 1917 from Petrograd. A devout Orthodox Christian, Mikhail Ridiger worked in Tallinn as an engineer and participated in the RSKhD - Russian Students' Christian Movement, which marked the return of Russian intellectuals to the Church.

Alexy's death Friday at age 79 deprives the Russian Orthodox Church of its dominant figure, whose stern, bearded face gave him an almost medieval aura of inflexible righteousness.

Mikhail Gorbachev said in a first reaction he was "so shocked that it is very hard for me to find words on the spot. I respected him deeply".

I remember how happy I felt, when Elijah the Tishbite told me in 1990, of the deep impact he had made upon the former Soviet leader, and compare with this post of Elijah's scribe.

President Gorbachev shows that we all can change. And Elijah bears witness, that faith can remove mountains, as his faith did, when this brave Prophet from California obeyed the Lord and went to Russia, and freed the great Russian people from communism.

In 1986, soon after Gorbachev came to power, Alexy was appointed Metropolitan of Leningrad and Novgorod. He was elected Patriarch in June 1990, partly because he was seen as more in tune with Gorbachev's modernising reforms than his main rival, who also had strong ties to the Communist regime.

Times Online reports the original Christ the Saviour cathedral had been destroyed by Stalin and replaced with a swimming pool. But Patriarch Alexy II oversaw the building of an exact replica with help from President Yeltsin and the influential Mayor of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov.

Vladimir Putin called the Patriarch's death "a very tragic and sorrowful event", adding: "Not only was he a prominent figure in the history of the Russian Orthodox Church, but also a great statesman".

Russian President Medvedev, who is in India, cancelled a planned visit to Italy to return to Russia for the funeral.

The Orthodox faith has come close to being the official religion, with schools encouraged to teach its precepts. President Medvedev and his wife Svetlana were shown on national television receiving a blessing from the Patriarch during the President’s inauguration at the Kremlin in May, even though the Russian state is officially secular.

Relations with the Roman Catholic Church remained touchy, however, and the Patriarch consistently opposed any visit to Russia by Pope John Paul II and his successor Benedict XVI. Alexy II accused Rome of "proselytism", a suspicion fuelled by the creation of four Catholic dioceses in Russia.

Let us hope for better relations now, with a greater role for Constantinople, and a more important place for Latin.

Those tensions aside, Pope Benedict XVI praised Alexy on Friday.

Pope Benedict XVI said in a message of condolence to the Russian Church: "I am pleased to recall the efforts of the late Patriarch for the rebirth of the Church, after the severe ideological oppression, which led to the martyrdom of so many witnesses to the Christian faith. I also recall his courageous battle for the defense of human and Gospel values".

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, has expressed his sadness on being informed of the death of Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow.

"Et erat ibi usque ad obitum Herodis, ut adimpleretur, quod dictum est a Domino per prophetam dicentem: 'Ex Aegypto vocavi filium meum' ", Matthew 2:15.

Donald Douglas: "How Do We Confront Evil?"

Apparuit autem illi angelus Domini stans a dextris altaris incensi. (Luke 1:11)

The excellent Professor and Writer, Donald Douglas, asks me in a comment on his poignant blog, American Power: "Philippe: What do you think? How do we confront evil?".

My answer is that I think the best way to confront evil is to create a better and juster world.

I am sure we both agree that the best way to do this is to "fight the good fight".

Evil and terrorism have always existed and will always exist.

Peace is impossible, because Satan is real.

Therefore we must fight, and Jesus is the answer.

The New Testament instructs us: "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you", see James 4:7.

1 Timothy 6:12 tells us to "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called".

"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ", see 2 Timothy 2:3.

Jesus said: "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword", see Matthew 10:34.

According to Philippians 2:25, we are fellowsoldiers, "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus", see Philippians 4:7.

We are promised total victory: "And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen", see Romans 16:20.

We know that there is life on other Planets in the Universe, because it is written: "Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them", see Revelation 12:12.

We know life exists in other Solar systems, because it is also written: "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds", see Hebrews 1:1 - 2.

"For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now", see Romans 8:22.

The answer to all evil is Jesus Crist, and He commanded: "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature", see Mark 16:15.

Thus we must fight for the whole Universe.

As Donald Douglas says: "Actually, like crime, terrorism can be defeated if societies take the appropriate steps to combat it".

I absolutely agree.

Jesus gave us the promise to never abandon or forsake us: "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen", see Matthew 28:18 - 20, and compare with Hebrews 13:5.

Thus, the Lord will always be with us, precisely as Paul confirmed: "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord", see Romans 8:38 - 39.

But will there ever be peace?

The answer is no. There will indeed never be peace, because evil will always exist, and will always have to be confronted firmly.

Even during the thousand year reign of Christ, see Revelation 20:4, we are promised constant war.

War is everlasting, and the good fight of faith is accordingly perpetual.

2 Peter 3:8 states: "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day", compare with Psalm 90:4.

When Revelation 2:10, which was written two thousand years ago, explains that "ye shall have tribulation ten days", then we know that there are eight thousand years left of merciless wars upon our dear Planet Earth.

Now the world is without end, see Ephesians 3:21, and compare with Isaiah 45:17, Ecclesiastes 1:4, and Revelation 22:5.

Jesus said: "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me", see Luke 19:27.

"Audite me, qui scitis iustum,
populus lex mea in corde eorum:
nolite timere obprobrium hominum
et blasphemias eorum ne metuatis",
Isaiah 51:7.

Egypt's Grand Sheik: I Shook Peres' Hand Because I Had No Idea Who He Was

Ecce ego mitto vos sicut oves in medio luporum; estote ergo prudentes sicut serpentes et simplices sicut columbae. (Matthew 10:16)

An Egyptian writes in his blog that Egypt's Grand Sheikh shook hands with Perez because he had no idea who he was.

The handshake, which took place at a United Nations-hosted interfaith meeting in New York last month, sparked harsh criticism among the Egyptian opposition, who went as far as to demand Tantawi's resignation, according to Haaretz.

Egyptian Parliament member Moustafa Bakri, asked Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, on Monday to dismiss Tantawi, saying that his meeting with Peres was "an affront to all Muslims everywhere".

Even though this matter is quite serious, I agree with An Egyptian that Egypt's Grand Sheikh anyway has a great sense of humor.

"Videte itaque, fratres, quomodo caute ambuletis, non quasi insipientes sed ut sapientes", Ephesians 5:15.

Enough Of The Morally Bankrupt U.N.!

Et hoc mandatum habemus ab eo, ut, qui diligit Deum, diligat et fratrem suum. (1 John 4:21)

Dennis Prager writes in RealClearPolitics that "great evils often begin with the murder of Jews".

That is absolutely correct!

And at the end of the article Prager explains why.

It is because "Evil hates goodness".

The fact that "the United Nations General Assembly passed six more anti-Israel resolutions", and that "the same week the murders in Mumbai were taking place", shows that the U.N. is an anti-Semitic and morally bankrupt organization, based an racism and anti-Semitism.

The U.N. always justifies anti-Semitism and most certainly had a part in both 9/11 and the Mumbai attacks.

The very organization we wanted for peace and prosperity, has now turned into a monster promoting worldwide terror, torture, and wars!

And the Americans are paying for and harbor this evil organization!

"He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love", see 1 John 4:8.

"Timor non est in caritate, sed perfecta caritas foras mittit timorem, quoniam timor poenam habet; qui autem timet, non est perfectus in caritate", 1 John 4:18.

Criminalize The Possession Of The Koran!

Et vidi alterum angelum volantem per medium caelum, habentem evangelium aeternum, ut evangelizaret sedentibus super terram et super omnem gentem et tribum et linguam et populum. (Revelation 14:6)

Our Christian religion is better.

The New Testament has shaped the Western world.

The New Testament defends democracy, liberal principles, and equality between men and women.

Our culture here in Europe is the best and most civilized culture in the world.

Of course the majority of Muslims in Europe and in America are not terrorists or violent people.

But we must never, through immigration, allow masses of people from backward and poor countries come in here, because at the end of the day, we will lose our own identity and our own culture.

If our society changes, then our freedom changes, and all the freedoms we have, will ultimately change and be lost.

According to the Koran, there are no moderate Muslims, and the imams themselves say genital mutilation, and honor killings, are the best way of Islam.

But we in the West will never accept this evil barbarity, which comes from the stupid book called the Koran.

The Eastern peoples have to give up the Koran. But we must be able to distinguish between the ideology and the people.

It is our duty in the Western world, to require that our minorities comply with civilized behavior and our secular rules.

The barbarous torture and killings of people in New York, London, and Madrid, in recent years, and now in Mumbai, are incited and promoted by the Koran.

This makes it necessary to criminalize the Koran including its production, sale, distribution, possession, importation and exportation, before any major city will be
destroyed here.

"Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men", see Acts 19:19.

But in order to take away something, we must have something better to offer.

Our religion in Europe - based upon the New Testament - and our cultural traditions in the West are better, and are what makes Europe such a great place!

We live in the best civilization on our Planet.

Accordingly, all people living in the Western world must accept the Judeo-Christian identity, the democratic and liberal principles, and our Holy book - The New Testament!

Our Christian religion, our culture, and our civilization is the best on our Planet - and will always be the best - as long as Europe is a Koranfree zone.

Britain, India, Spain, and the United States, have learned how to deal effectively with terrorism the hard way. Now the rest of us have understood.

The Western world is the best part of the world, the New Testament is the best book, and Latin is the best language.

"Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place", see 2 Corinthians 2:14.

"Scimus autem quoniam diligentibus Deum omnia cooperantur in bonum, his, qui secundum propositum vocati sunt sancti", Romans 8:28.

Venice Struck By Worst Flooding In 22 Years

(Matthew 24:37 - 39)

Venice has been hit by the biggest flood in 22 years, with waters rising 1.56m (5ft) above normal.

Virtually all Venice's streets are under water - including the tourist district and the famous St Mark's Square.

This is the highest "acqua alta", or high water, since it reached 1.58m in 1986.

The lagoon city in the Adriatic suffers some level of flooding for about 200 days every year, but the authorities are planning to complete the building of an underwater dam to protect the city by 2011, according to BBC .

The situation is further complicated by a transport strike, which affects public transport water buses, vaporettos.

According to experts, Venice's high water levels, are caused by a combination of sustained south winds and heavy rain, and snowfall in northern Italy in recent days.

"Et erunt signa in sole et luna et stellis, et in terris pressura gentium prae confusione sonitus maris et fluctuum", Luke 21:25.
