Beatus, qui legit et qui audiunt verba prophetiae et servant ea, quae in ea scripta sunt; tempus enim prope est. (Revelation 1:3)
I just read through Caroline Glick's latest column in Jerusalem Post.
There she recounts that President Obama's first phone call to a foreign leader was to PLO chieftain Mahmoud Abbas last Wednesday morning. And this past Tuesday, Obama gave his first television interview as President to the Al-Arabiya pan-Arabic television network.
It is good that President Obama wants to hear all sides, and that he respects people of other faiths and of other nationalities.
I also respect people of all backgrounds, faiths, and nationalities.
Those who think I don't, do not know me.
But, would it not be more appropriate for the new American President to first call his allies, such as the Queen of England, and Silvio Berlusconi of Italy?
If I was elected American President, I would also call Tzipi Livni, the President of the European Commission, the Russian President Medvedev, and the Pope Benedict XVI, before calling the Palestinian occupiers of Biblical Israel.
I am also disappointed the American President did not first contact us in Europe.
While Obama claims a Christian faith, I do not believe his actions and views are in line with Christian values.
I agree that Arabs and Palestinians in Biblical Israel have difficult times, but they voluntarily accept to live in the land everybody recognizes to belong to Biblical Israel.
President Obama's priorities are indeed bizarre.
No one in his right senses believes a two-state solution is possible for Israel.
What President Barack Obama should do is to prepare for a one state solution in Israel, but without bloodshed and wars.
Obviously both the American Democratic Party and the American President want a nuclear world war in order to redress the American economy and retain America's superpower status.
This is why we have all this talk of a two-state solution in the Middle East.
President Obama's foreign policy is about serving America's interests in the world, nothing else.
It will however be very interesting to see how Hillary Clinton will tackle this issue.
But I wonder how the American public would feel, if a newly elected European President would contact chieftains in the Arab world and give interviews in their news channels, before contacting the American administration?
Maybe President Obama wants to maintain his predecessor's approval rate of 10 percent among Europeans?

Aspicientes in auctorem fidei et consummatorem Iesum. (Hebrews 12:2)
Those in the clergy who are against women Bishops and Priests, and who tolerate homosexuality within the Church must repent.
Militant secularism in the Western world is behind the present financial crisis.
A leading Bishop in the Church of England, Dr Nazir-Ali has said, returning to the theme of parents not passing on religion to their children: "Many of society’s problems particularly in young people are related to the fact that so many have not experienced a stable family life. So many have grown up without a recognizable father figure".
When believers "recover their nerve" and starts spreading the Gospel again, then the World will experience the Golden Age.

Qui autem scrutatur corda, scit quid desideret Spiritus, quia secundum Deum postulat pro sanctis. (Romans 8:27)
Radio Netherlands reports that Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen has told the Vatican's Ambassador to the Netherlands, Nuncio Francois Bacqué, that Pope Benedict XVI should issue a clear-cut condemnation of Bishop Richard Williamson.
Pope Benedict XVI recently rehabilitated the English Bishop, who denies the Nazis killed six million Jews.
Williamson says 300.000 Jews died in the war and that gas chambers did not exist.
Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen says the Bishop's comments are shocking, especially in a period of rising Anti-Semitism and racism.
I commend the Dutch Foreign Minister for his courageous commitment to the truth.
According to Times Online, leading members of Britain's Jewish community have joined in condemnation of the Pope's decision to lift the excommunication on Bishop Williamson, who denies the Holocaust at the same time as the nation commemorates the six million Jews murdered in the Nazi death camps.
In an interview broadcast on Swedish television last week, Bishop Williamson said: "There were no gas chambers".
Williamson also stated that he did not believe six million had died, and that the number was between 200.000 and 300.000. In the past, he has endorsed the Anti-Semitic forgery, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
Stephen Smith, Director of the Holocaust Center and chairman of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, said, "Whatever the politics of the Catholic Church, the readmission of Bishop Williamson, who is a self-proclaimed Holocaust denier and actively endorses The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, is indefensible".
"What's more, the timing - that coincides with Holocaust Memorial Day, which marks the liberation of Auschwitz where 1.5 million people died in the gas chambers that Bishop Williamson claims did not exist - is an insult and sends out entirely the wrong message about the Vatican's commitment to tackling Anti-Semitism".
Dr Ed Kessler, of the Centre for the Study of Jewish Christian Relations at the Woolf Institute in Cambridge, said: "In the 20 odd years that I have been teaching Jewish-Christian relations I never thought I would witness a time when in the name of Christian unity, a German-bred Pope would bring back into the fold a Holocaust-denier.
It is absolutely astonishing.
While it is an internal decision for the Roman Catholic Church it has huge consequences, not just in terms of relations with Jews but also for other faiths and ecumenical relations. It is a very very sad day for Catholic-Jewish relations".
I absolutely agree with Dr Kessler. Pope Benedict XVI should tell Bishop Williamson to go to hell!
I really do not understand the Papal decision to reinstate a Bishop who publicly denies 6 million Jews were killed during the Holocaust.
Dr Kessler said he doubted the Pope's planned trip to Israel would now go ahead but warned that if it did, it would be dogged by huge controversy.
Dr Kessler said: "It is not enough to say that it is a technicality that these people are being brought back into the fold. This is not just a problem for the Jews, it is a problem most of all for the Catholics".
Myself I would like to add that the Holocaust is a huge problem not only for Catholics, but for all us Christians - how we here in Europe could kill 6 million Jews.
Bishop Williamson himself on his blog, Dinoscopus, described the Pope's actions as "a great step forward for the Church".
Bishop Bernard Fellay, who heads the society and was one of the other Bishops readmitted, attacked Swedish television and defended Williamson.
Fellay said: "It is shameful to use an interview on religious matters to introduce secular and controversial issues with the obvious intention of misrepresenting and maligning our religious society. Such vile attempt will not reach its goal. The Society of St Pius X will not renounce its intention to bring the true Catholic faith and sacraments to Swedish Catholics who have a right to both".
No Bishop Fellay, you are dead wrong, who defend murder of the innocent!
What is shameful, is to persecute God's elect.
What is shameful, is to deny what all facts prove and the buildings in Auschwitz reveal, that the Jews were systematically exterminated during World War 2.
I have earlier said that the separation between the Church and the State of Sweden, which took place on 1st of January 2000, was a very big mistake, because you should never separate the State and the Church.
I maintain however that the Church must be global, and that Latin must be the official international language, but that the Priesthood belongs to the Levites - both men and women, see Romans 9:4.

Bonum certamen certavi, cursum consummavi, fidem servavi. (2 Timothy 4:7)
According to BBC, the Russian Orthodox Church has elected senior cleric Metropolitan Kirill, 62, as its new leader, to succeed Patriarch Alexiy II, who died last month.
Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, won 508 votes in a secret ballot at Moscow’s Christ the Saviour Cathedral, defeating Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk, who won just 169 votes, Christian Today announces.
He is now Patriarch Kirill I of Russia.
This was an election without precedent, BBC's James Rodgers in Moscow says.
Metropolitan Kirill received 508 of the 700 votes cast during an all-day Church congress in Moscow's ornate Christ the Savior Cathedral, the head of the commission responsible for the election, Metropolitan Isidor, said hours after the secret ballot was over, The Christian Post reports.
"I accept and thank the Church Council for my election as Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia", Kirill said after the results of the ballot in Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Saviour were announced.
Both Putin and Medvedev called Patriarch Kirill I later to congratulate him.
Catholic News Service reports Pope Benedict XVI said he learned "with joy" of the election of Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad - a prelate he has met three times - as the new Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The last time the Russian Orthodox Church chose a leader was in 1990, when the Soviet Union still existed.
Since then, Russia has changed beyond recognition, and the Orthodox Church in Russia has been reunited with the Church outside the country.
Across Russia thousands of Churches and Monasteries have been re-opened or rebuilt.
That was one of the achievements of Patriarch Alexiy II.
According to Julia Duin of the Washington Times, the reason that Kirill was an intriguing choice is that he has been involved in ecumenical activities since 1971, when he represented the Moscow Patriarchate at the World Council of Churches.
The Russian Orthodox Church counts in its congregation more than 100 million people in Russia and tens of millions elsewhere.
I congratulate Patriarch Kirill I of Russia on the fine and important work he does.

Et factum est, ut audivit salutationem Mariae Elisabeth, exsultavit infans in utero eius, et repleta est Spiritu Sancto Elisabeth. (Luke 1:41)
I read this today in Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam:
A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said: "Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even one year old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together".
So the doctor said: "Ok, and what do you want me to do?".
She said: "I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this".
The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: "I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too".
She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.
Then he continued: "You see, in order for you not to have to take care of two babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms".
The lady was horrified and said: "No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child!".
"I agree", the doctor replied. "But you seemed to be ok with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution".
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness", see 1 John 1:9.

Quia in ipso condita sunt universa in caelis et in terra,
visibilia et invisibilia,
sive throni sive dominationes
sive principatus sive potestates.
Omnia per ipsum et in ipso creata sunt.
The word incarnation is derived from the Latin in and caro - flesh - meaning clothed in flesh, and describes the act of God in the New Testament, in which He assumed a human body - Jesus Christ.
"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory", see 1 Timothy 3:16.
The New Testament was given as the new Law, see Matthew 5:18, Luke 16:16, 2 Corinthians 3:11, Hebrews 8:6 - 7, and 1 Peter 1:25.
And now the new Law - the new Torah - states that God became man, and it was originally written in Latin - God's sacred language.
God made Himself of no reputation, when He took upon Him the form of a servant, and made Himself in the likeness of men.
So God was found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and He became obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross.
God's greatest revelation of Himself to man is in Jesus Christ, which unites Earth to Heaven.
Through His Incarnation, Jesus Christ reveals man to himself. He shows us what we are and what we may become.
"The Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many", see Matthew 20:28.
Though the salvation of man was God's chief concern, His plan was never limited to the world of mankind, compare with Romans 8:22.
When Christ comes back to reign and "the government shall be upon His shoulder", see Isaiah 9:6 and Luke 1:32 - 33, then the sons of God will be manifested and will share with Him in a restored creation.
The creature itself shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
When Jesus said: "The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof", see Matthew 21:43, there was no mistaking what the Lord Jesus meant, for the Chief Priests and Pharisees "perceived that He spake of them", see Matthew 21:45.
But this did not mean that God cast away His people, see Romans 11:1, but blindness in part temporarily happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in, see Romans 11:25.
The fall of Israel and the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, was a national tragedy, but which resulted in an international triumph.
But how much more will the national restoration and national regeneration of Israel lead to an international triumph, when the Greeks and Romans also be come in with the rest of Israel?
For the New Testament calls us to freedom, and through Jesus Christ the yoke of the Old Testament Law is broken from off our necks, compare with Genesis 27:40, and Galatians 5:1.
"But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed", see James 1:25
God gave Palestine to the Jews unconditionally as a possession and a dwelling place.
Jesus came to reign, and the day comes when all things will be subjected unto Him, compare to 1 Corinthians 15:28.
"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth", see Philippians 2:10.
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved", see Acts 4:12.
God became man, in order to rescue the whole creation.
"An nescitis quoniam membra vestra templum est Spiritus Sancti, qui in vobis est, quem habetis a Deo, et non estis vestri? ", 1 Corinthians 6:19.

Euntes in mundum universum praedicate evangelium omni creaturae. (Mark 16:15)
FOXNews reports that teleportation works.
For the first time, information has been teleported between two separate atoms across a distance of a meter - about a yard.
Christopher Monroe of the Joint Quantum Institute at the University of Maryland, who led the effort said: "This is a significant milestone in a field known as quantum information processing".
Teleportation is a fantastic means of transport, where matter is transferred from one place to another, without traveling through any physical medium.
And now these brave American scientists have succeeded to teleport matter one meter!
"And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do", see Genesis 11:6.
"Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?", see John 11:40.

Dicite filiae Sion:
Ecce Rex tuus venit tibi, ,
mansuetus et sedens super asinam et super pullum filium subiugalis.
According to WorldNetDaily, Nation of Islam's leader Louis Farrakhan declared in October that when Obama talks, "the Messiah is absolutely speaking".
And now Iowa's artist Matthew J. Clark takes the Messianic imagery even farther, and compares Obama directly with the celebrated Messiah.
Clark marched Obama through the streets of Des Moines in similar fashion to Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, and called the marching artwork: "A Simulacrum of Hope: Simulation of the Triumphal Entry of the Christ".
The Bible describes Jesus' procession into Jerusalem in Matthew 21:5: "Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass".
As the celebrated Messiah entered the city, the Bible also tells of adorers spreading their cloaks at Jesus' feet and waving palm fronds.
Similarly, Newsbusters reports that actor Forest Whitaker summed it up for Oprah on The Oprah Winfrey Show, with the words: "The light of the New Age is here".
Oprah pal Gayle King passed along her agreement with a message concerning President Obama, that "Not only does he hear us. He feels us. That when I hear Barack Obama, they said, he talks to my soul".
An UFO also made an appearance at Obama's Presidential inauguration.
A video shows a UFO flying past the Washington Monument, as nearly two million people gathered to watch the inauguration.
Another UFO monitored Obama's speech in November.
Extraterrestrials want to share their knowledge and be our friends, compare with Romans 8:31 and Revelation 12:12.
President Obama must watch out, because the right hand represents the future, and his lifeline is broken in it.

Videte, ne contemnatis unum ex his pusillis; dico enim vobis quia angeli eorum in caelis semper vident faciem Patris mei, qui in caelis est. (Matthew 18:10)
The latest report from Het Laatste Nieuws says that there are at least three dead, including two children, in a knife massacre at a creche in Dendermonde, 30 km northwest of Brussels.
A man reportedly tricked his way into the creche in Dendermonde where he ran amok inside, stabbing the children with a long-bladed knife, before escaping.
The suspect apparently had painted his face with black and white stripes.
The perpetrator had no connection to the day care center, but was an inmate at a nearby mental health institution.
According to Daily Mail the man had a grudge against children.
Mayor Piet Buyse said: "An act of great brutality has happened here against our weakest citizens. The whole city is united in support for the parents who are in deep grief".
Dr. Ignace Demeyer, director of the local hospital, said 10 children arrived at his hospital with very serious stab wounds, all required surgery, and all were now in stable condition.
Demeyer continued: "This was a particularly violent attack. All the kids had multiple stab wounds on their legs, arms, and all over their bodies".
The creche looks after children under the age of three.
Demeyer said 21 children were at the center at the time of the attack, but that nine were unharmed.
Interior Minister Guido De Padt told a press conference he was "horrified by the events".
This horrible deed is unforgivable. My condolences go out to the families.

Invisibilia enim ipsius a creatura mundi per ea, quae facta sunt, intellecta conspiciuntur, sempiterna quoque eius et virtus et divinitas, ut sint inexcusabiles. (Romans 1:20)
In his blog, Mrmhalland reports that "Lollo", 17, will be extradited to Croatia, although she has lived in Sweden all her life.
According to the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter, 17-year-old "Lollo", is born and raised in Sweden, and has regularly been beaten by her father, who has served time in prison for regularly beating her and locking her up.
The mother has abandoned the family.
"Lollo's" mother tongue is Swedish, and she does not speak any Croatian.
"Lollo" has no connection to Croatia, and no relatives there.
But her father, who has served time in jail for assaulting her, is Croatian and now the Swedish Immigration Court has decided that "Lollo" will be deported to Croatia - and together with her father!
This is heartbreaking and inhuman!
Which other country in the Western world, would deport a girl, who was born there, and who has lived her whole life there, and who only is a 17-year-old child?
The Swedish Immigration Court has asked the special anti-immigration police force to expel "Lollo", 17, to Croatia, together with her violent father.
I am ashamed I am Swedish!

Cum autem audieritis proelia et seditiones, nolite terreri; oportet primum haec fieri, sed non statim finis. (Luke 21:9)
One of the differences between neocons and liberals is that neocons would rather regulate our personal lives - abortion, freedom of speech, religion, etc. - while liberals prefer to regulate corporate society - safety laws, SarbOx, right-to-work, etc.
Regulating is what politics is all about, regardless which country you live in or what political ideology you embrace.
Most governments also do a great job regulating our lives.
With the two sides - both the ideas of the left and of the right - pressing for more regulations, the Internet is the last thing which is not under government monopoly.
Similarly to John C. Dvorak I agree that President Obama needs to reemphasize R&D, because "R&D alone is what made the personal computer revolution and the Internet".
Hopefully President Obama will be a universalist and a pioneer when it comes to Internet technologies, and will further facilitate our international communications.
"Iterum dico vobis quia si duo ex vobis consenserint super terram de omni re, quacumque petierint, fiet illis a Patre meo, qui in caelis est. Ubi enim sunt duo vel tres congregati in nomine meo, ibi sum in medio eorum", Matthew 18:19 - 20.

Petite, et dabitur vobis; quaerite et invenietis; pulsate, et aperietur vobis. (Matthew 7:7)
USA Today has the full text of President Barack H. Obama's inaugural address, delivered Jan. 20, 2009, in Washington, D.C.:
"My fellow citizens:
I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.
Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents.
So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans.
That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.
These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land — a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.
Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met.
On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.
On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.
We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.
In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of short-cuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted — for those who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things — some celebrated but more often men and women obscure in their labor, who have carried us up the long, rugged path towards prosperity and freedom.
For us, they packed up their few worldly possessions and traveled across oceans in search of a new life.
For us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the West; endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth.
For us, they fought and died, in places like Concord and Gettysburg; Normandy and Khe Sahn.
Time and again these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked till their hands were raw so that we might live a better life. They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions; greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction.
This is the journey we continue today. We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on Earth. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began. Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Our capacity remains undiminished. But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions — that time has surely passed. Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.
For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act — not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. And all this we will do.
Now, there are some who question the scale of our ambitions — who suggest that our system cannot tolerate too many big plans. Their memories are short. For they have forgotten what this country has already done; what free men and women can achieve when imagination is joined to common purpose, and necessity to courage.
What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them — that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end. And those of us who manage the public's dollars will be held to account — to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day — because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.
Nor is the question before us whether the market is a force for good or ill. Its power to generate wealth and expand freedom is unmatched, but this crisis has reminded us that without a watchful eye, the market can spin out of control — and that a nation cannot prosper long when it favors only the prosperous. The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our Gross Domestic Product, but on the reach of our prosperity; on our ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart — not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.
As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals. Our Founding Fathers, faced with perils we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations. Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expedience's sake. And so to all other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born: know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and that we are ready to lead once more.
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
We are the keepers of this legacy. Guided by these principles once more, we can meet those new threats that demand even greater effort — even greater cooperation and understanding between nations. We will begin to responsibly leave Iraq to its people, and forge a hard-earned peace in Afghanistan. With old friends and former foes, we will work tirelessly to lessen the nuclear threat, and roll back the specter of a warming planet. We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.
For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus — and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth; and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.
To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West — know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.
To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds. And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to suffering outside our borders; nor can we consume the world's resources without regard to effect. For the world has changed, and we must change with it.
As we consider the road that unfolds before us, we remember with humble gratitude those brave Americans who, at this very hour, patrol far-off deserts and distant mountains. They have something to tell us today, just as the fallen heroes who lie in Arlington whisper through the ages. We honor them not only because they are guardians of our liberty, but because they embody the spirit of service; a willingness to find meaning in something greater than themselves. And yet, at this moment — a moment that will define a generation — it is precisely this spirit that must inhabit us all.
For as much as government can do and must do, it is ultimately the faith and determination of the American people upon which this nation relies. It is the kindness to take in a stranger when the levees break, the selflessness of workers who would rather cut their hours than see a friend lose their job which sees us through our darkest hours. It is the firefighter's courage to storm a stairway filled with smoke, but also a parent's willingness to nurture a child, that finally decides our fate.
Our challenges may be new. The instruments with which we meet them may be new. But those values upon which our success depends — hard work and honesty, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism — these things are old. These things are true. They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history. What is demanded then is a return to these truths. What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility — a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task.
This is the price and the promise of citizenship.
This is the source of our confidence — the knowledge that God calls on us to shape an uncertain destiny.
This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed — why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent mall, and why a man whose father less than sixty years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath.
So let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have traveled. In the year of America's birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people:
'Let it be told to the future world...that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive...that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet [it]'.
America. In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations".
I wish President Obama all the best of luck, and I wish a better future for the American people.

Sermo vester semper in gratia sale sit conditus, ut sciatis quomodo oporteat vos unicuique respondere. (Colossians 4:6)
Dr Thomas Pollet at Newcastle University, is a psychologist who has done a research, which proves that women’s orgasm frequency increases with the income of their partner, according to Daily Mail.
Pollet said "a woman's 'capacity for orgasm' could have evolved to help her discriminate between males on the basis of their quality".
The link between enjoyment of sex and wealth has also been found in studies in Germany and in America.
Women have to invest so much time and personal risk into each baby, it is crucial that they get the most successful and healthy partner, so they can too improve the chances of their own DNA being passed on.
A man, in contrast, can father hundreds, or even thousands, of babies in a lifetime, and so invests less in each child.
That means they do not have to be so choosy about whether their partner is socially successful.
The result of this battle of the sexes is that women are more influenced by the social status, intelligence, quick wits, and success of a partner than men are, scientists argue.
Wealth is usually an obvious indicator of success.
Times Online reports David Buss, professor of psychology at the University of Texas, Austin, believes female orgasms have several possible purposes.
Buss said: "They could promote emotional bonding with a high-quality male or they could serve as a signal that women are highly sexually satisfied, and hence unlikely to seek sex with other men. What those orgasms are saying is ‘I'm extremely loyal, so you should invest in me and my children' ".
This confirms what we already know about how women's advanced emotions work.
Nature has always a logical explanation and is quite easy to see through.

BBC reports the Russian and Ukrainian Prime Ministers Putin and Timoshenko have struck a deal at talks in Moscow, to resume Russian natural gas exports to Europe via Ukraine shortly.
According to Russia Today, Ukraine will enjoy a 20% discount to the market price in 2009 while Russia's transit fees will stay unchanged.
The talks weren’t easy - Timoshenko admitted.
Until the very last moment, there were doubts about just how much authority Timoshenko had to speak on behalf of Ukraine.
Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev said earlier on Saturday: "I hope she has a mandate, Yushchenko reassured me they have the same position".
Even before Putin and Timoshenko struck their deal, President Medvedev was warning that a resolution to this crisis would by no means be grounds to relax.
Medvedev warned: "This crisis showed that the current mechanisms do not work - we need a new system".
The Kremlin is now pushing forward an idea of mutual responsibility, in order to secure the interests of Europe as well as its own.
Since the collapse of the USSR, Ukraine has enjoyed subsidized prices for gas.
Gazprom says that for years it had paid for European energy security out of its own pocket. Now it wants Europe to share the responsibility.
An E.U. diplomat said: "By Spring this crisis will be forgotten and the E.U. will be calling Russia a 'strategic partner' once again".
This is an opinion I share.

Can you imagine a Christian Priest issuing a death order in a Church?
Every hour of every day at least five to six Bible-believing Christian followers of the Lord Jesus Christ are murdered all over this whole Earth with the numbers increasing as each day passes.
Remember that murderers cannot go to heaven, but their place will be in the lake of fire, which is the second death, see Revelation 21:8.
Christians have to resist fear and go out to use our professed most holy faith while we can out in public, that is, to be as strong as Stephen was in his time of testing, see Acts 6:15 and 7:59 - 60.

Omnes enim nos manifestari oportet ante tribunal Christi, ut referat unusquisque propria corporis prout gessit, sive bonum sive malum. (2 Corinthians 5:10)
Palm Beach Post reports a woman in Palm Beach County crashed into a man on a scooter, and then kept driving to make her hair appointment.
The scooter, crashed into the driver's side, vaulting the man off the scooter onto the windshield and then onto the roadway.
After the crash, the woman reportedly did not stop, but left the injured man to his misery, and kept driving south to get her hair washed, and then went home.
Maybe it is difficult to get your beautyshop appointment rescheduled there?
While the woman was having her hair done, firefighters were transporting the man, who suffered abrasions all over his body, to the hospital.
His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The woman later told investigators she thought she had hit the curb until she got to the beauty salon and got out and saw the extensive damage to the front of her car.
Officers arrested the woman and booked her into the Palm Beach County Jail.
According to sheriff's officials she quickly posted $3.000 bail and was released.
I wonder what a $3.000 hairdo looks like?
When questioned about the damage to the front of her car, the woman told investigators she did not know what she hit and kept going.
But she said she was curious to get home and see what she had hit...

According to Deutsche Welle, Russian Prime Minister Putin says he is hopeful of reaching a deal to deliver gas to European customers, following talks with German Chancellor Merkel, after a row with Ukraine that has cut supplies since the start of the year.
Despite a series of agreements, Russian gas exports via Ukraine remained cut off for the 10th day Friday, leaving some European countries without sufficient fuel to heat homes and factories.
Speaking to reporters in Berlin after talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Vladimir Putin said Western gas importers could play a role in ending the blockade that has cut supplies of gas via Ukraine and left large parts of Europe without heating.
Putin earlier met executives of E.ON Ruhrgas of Germany, ENI of Italy, and Gaz de France in a Berlin hotel.
Putin is due to meet Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko for talks on energy in Moscow on Saturday.
On Friday, senior officials from Eastern Europe gathered in Kiev for a blitz energy summit.
Merkel told reporters there might be a test phase where gas pumping was resumed under monitoring by European Union inspectors.
She said the inspectors would check the pipeline transit system to ensure that gas destined for Western Europe "does not disappear in Ukraine".
Merkel said: "I think we will eventually find a solution", and she appealed to both Russia and the Ukraine to return to the negotiating table, to end what was essentially a commercial dispute.
Merkel continued: "Time is of the essence", adding that a settlement was also in the interests of Russia and Gazprom. Otherwise there would be a loss of confidence in them, she said.
Merkel phoned Ukraine's leaders on Thursday, before her meeting with Putin, who was paying his first visit to Germany since leaving the Russian Presidency and becoming Prime Minister in May 2008.
The European Union relies on Russia for about 20 per cent of its natural gas. Germany, Europe's biggest economy, gets 37 per cent of its gas supplies from Russia.
European Commission spokesman Johannes Laitenberger said: "The European Commission believes that the meetings in the coming days offer the last and best chance for Russia and Ukraine to demonstrate they are serious about resolving this dispute".
Laitenberger continued: "The gas must flow. We will regard this period as a test case for judging whether or not they are credible partners".
Putin actually said during his talks with Merkel: "I believe we can reach an agreement that will resolve the situation and lead to the transit of Russian gas".
And Merkel said: "I think we will eventually find a solution".
Thus we have every reason to remain optimistic.

France 24 reports Zimbabwe unveiled a 100 trillion dollar banknote Friday in the latest grim measure of its staggering economic collapse, heightening the urgency of a new round of unity talks set for next week.
The 100 trillion dollar banknote equals about 30 Euro today, but tomorrow it will only be worth half that amount.
Prices are doubling every day in Zimbabwe, and food and fuel are in short supply.
A cholera epidemic has killed more than 2.000 people, and a deadlock between President Robert Mugabe and the opposition over power sharing has dampened hopes of ending the crisis.
Let us hope the people of Zimbabwe soon will find a good solution to Zimbabwe's economic problems.

David Cerny’s controversial artwork, full of crude national stereotypes, was officially launched at the heart of the E.U. today.
The E.U. headquarters in Brussels wanted to have a new, beautiful artwork that would represent all 27 member states.
The idea was that the work would be exhibited in the conference room in Brussels, where all E.U. summits take place.
Since the Czech Republic holds the Presidency of the E.U., the Czech sculptor David Cerny got the mission to select an artist from each E.U. country to portray each country in the best way.
David Cerny admitted that he misled his own government, which commissioned him to make the 10 million Crown (£350,000) artwork as a showpiece of its Presidency of the E.U., by making it with his friends instead of artists from the 27 countries.
The Czech artist joke sculpture of the 27 European Union nations has caused a diplomatic row.
Cerny told The Times that he was inspired by British satire typified by Monty Python to test whether the E.U. had a sense of humor.
Maps of each country on the sculpture feature satirical emblems, such as a strike banner for France.
The Netherlands is shown as a series of minarets submerged by a flood.
Luxemburg is a nugget bearing the words "For sale", and Belgium is a box of chocolates.
Cerny, 41, added that he apologized to Bulgaria after its ambassador formally complained about its depiction as a toilet, and he also strongly denied that Germany’s interlinked autobahns were made to look like a swastika.
Aleksandr Vondra, the Czech deputy Prime Minister, launched the eight-tonne sculpture with a lengthy defense of freedom of expression, but admitted that the image of Bulgaria as a toilet might still be removed, because Sofia was continuing its protests at the highest diplomatic level.
The eyes lit up on the vampire representing Romania, Greece glowed red with bushfires, and Italian soccer players began to masturbate with their footballs.
Betina Joteva, first secretary for the Bulgarian government office to the E.U., insisted that the image of her country was removed.
Joteva said: "I cannot accept to see a toilet on the map of my country. This is not the face of Bulgaria".
Cerny, dressed all in black and looking sheepish, apologized at least three times and said that he would send back all the public money he had received to his government.
As Cerny stepped up to the microphone, a French journalist booed, perhaps angered at the "Strike!" banner adorning his country.
Other countries, too, have not been flattered. Britain is represented as an empty space because of British euroscepticism.
Conservative Roman Catholic Poland, a stalwart opponent of marriage for homosexuals, is depicted by Priests raising the rainbow flag of the gay movement.
Denmark, rendered in Lego bricks, which were designed by a Dane, has appeared to some people to be an image of the Danish Prophet Mohammed caricatures that outraged the Islamic world.
Cerny told The Times: "I am seriously very pro-European. It would be a great pity if Europe would not be able to take this as a bit of satire and irony. If we are strong as Europe it should be OK for one nation to make fun of other nations".
The biggest problem is not the strange sense of humor of the Czech artist, but that narrow-minded E.U. parlamentarians - who wish to run all our lives - attack the basic artistic liberty and the peaceful freedom of expression of its citizens.
What we should reject is not this piece of artwork, but the E.U. bureaucracy and censorship.
Instead of criticizing a piece of art, the E.U. bureaucrats should work harder giving us one common language, preferably Latin, and one common computer keyboard standard for all E.U. countries, so that all E.U. citizens can enjoy entertainment, unbiased news, and the latest technology with the latest computer models.

Et nolite conformari huic saeculo, sed reformamini in novitate sensus vestri, ut probetis quae sit voluntas Dei, bona et placens et perfecta. (Romans 12:2)
Daily Mail reports the Pope is declaring a "holy war" against people who claim falsely that the Virgin Mary is appearing to them.
He will attempt to snuff out an explosion of bogus heavenly apparitions with new guidelines to help Bishops root out frauds.
Benedict XVI plans to publish criteria to help them distinguish between true and false claims of visions of Jesus and the Virgin Mary, messages, stigmata - the appearances of the five wounds of Christ - and weeping or bleeding statues.
In some cases exorcists will be used to determine if a credible apparition is of divine or demonic origin.
The guidelines will be published by the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
Pope Benedict XVI is said to be deeply concerned by the explosion in the number of pseudo-mystics who, claiming a direct line to God, set themselves against the Bishops and lure the Catholic faithful out of the Church and into cults.
Now that the Pontiff admits that the apparitions might be demonic, we can hope for better documentation of demon possessions in the future.
The handbook comes six years after the Pope - when he was simply Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger - first said that the boom in such phenomena posed a risk to the unity of the Church.
The Church has been traditionally cautious in dealing with private revelations, in the belief that nothing new can be added to the Catholic faith.
But according to Petrus - an Italian online magazine - the Pope will now explicitly demand the "utmost rigor" in apparitions.
When a claim of heavenly apparitions occurs, the local Bishop will need to set up a commission of psychiatrists, psychologists, theologians, and Priests who will investigate the claims systematically.
The first step will be to impose silence on the alleged visionaries and if they refuse to obey then this will be taken as a sign that their claims are false.
The visionaries will next be visited by psychiatrists, either atheists or Catholics, to certify their mental health and to verify whether they are suffering from conditions of a hysterical or hallucinatory character or from delusions of leadership.
The third step will be to investigate the person’s level of education and to determine if they have had access to material that could be used to falsely support their claims.
If the visionary is considered credible they will ultimately be questioned by one or more demonologists and exorcists to exclude the possibility that Satan is hiding behind the apparitions in order to deceive the faithful.
In the 2003, a Vatican yearbook revealed that between 1905 and 1995 there were 295 reported apparitions, only 11 of which were recognized as genuine.
It said that in many cases "signs from heaven" were exposed as human trickery.
Among those considered to have experienced genuine private revelations are St. Faustina Kowalska, the first saint of the third millennium who was said to have been visited by apparitions of Jesus in the 1930s.
The visions of the Virgin Mary by three children at Fatima, Portugal, between 1915 and 1917 have also been affirmed.
Virgin Mary is the Mother of God, and therefore it is excellent that Pope Benedict XVI not buys in to modern Virgin Mary nonsense.

Adtende tibi et doctrinae; insta in illis; hoc enim faciens et te ipsum salvum facies et qui te audiunt. (1 Timothy 4:16)
The European Union is not getting one drop of Russian gas.
Radio Netherlands reports Ukraine is blocking the flow of gas to Europe, after Russia turned the tap back on earlier on Tuesday.
Kiev says it is preventing the transit of gas through its territory because of "unacceptable Russian demands".
The deal to resume gas supplies today appeared to break down after Russian gas monopoly Gazprom said Ukraine had failed to carry the gas westwards after it pumped it across their borders.
Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko called on Russia to "stop the blackmail" and work out an agreement.
European observers have confirmed that there is very little gas in the pipelines.
"Nothing, not one drop has reached the E.U.", a European Commission spokesman told EUobserver.
Ukraine's blocking of gas deliveries to Europe, dash hopes of ending a row which has hit several countries' supplies.
According to BBC, Gazprom deputy head Alexander Medvedev said Ukraine had failed to carry the gas onwards to Europe after it resumed pumping it across their border.
Hundreds of thousands of Europeans have been without gas for nearly a week.
Moscow has been unable to resolve differences with Ukraine over debts and pricing.
The European Commission is calling for an immediate improvement in the situation.
European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, telephoned Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to express disappointment at the low levels of gas flowing from Russia, and at the apparent lack of access to dispatch centres for E.U. monitors, E.U. officials said.
Barroso said he would also discuss the problem with the Ukrainian leadership.
Russia shut off the gas to Europe last Wednesday, accusing Kiev of stealing gas meant for other European customers.
Gazprom had already stopped supplying Ukraine with gas for domestic consumption a week earlier.
About 80 percent of the Russian gas destined for European customers travels through export pipelines on Ukrainian territory.
Eastern Europe has been particularly hit by the dispute, and more than 15 countries across central Europe have been hit by the shutdown of Russian gas supplies.
The gas crisis has reignited the debate on future E.U. energy policy.
It is obvious that the E.U. is too dependent on Russian gas, and that we need to build many more nuclear reactors across the European Union in order to secure our future energy supplies.

There are two different houses, though similar in appearance:
The House of Israel, and the House of Israel's enemies.
There is a similar trial, but there will be two kinds of results.
And between the houses "is a great gulf fixed", see Luke 16:26.
"For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem. It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. Ideo mittit illis Deus operationem erroris, ut credant mendacio. (2 Thessalonians 2:11)
Former 9/11 Commissioner Tim Roemer slips up and says a missile hit the Pentagon on 9/11.
Since nobody saw a tail-section, a wing, a fuselage, or an engine, a plane in fact probably did not hit the Pentagon, but a missile.
George W. Bush also slips up and describes explosives in the World Trade Center Towers.
Donald Rumsfeld slips up as well, saying that United 93 was shot down in Pennsylvania.
Larry Silverstein was the owner of the 47-story WTC building 7, which collapsed on 9/11, and he owns the new 52-story building 7, which opened in May, 2006 on the site of the old building.
During an interview in 2002 for the PBS documentary, America Rebuilds: A Year at Ground Zero, Larry Silverstein slipped up and said that they pulled WTC7 on 9/11:
"I remember getting a call from the fire department commander, telling me that they were not sure they were gonna be able to contain the fire, and I said, 'We've had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it'. And they made that decision to pull and then we watched the building collapse".
The explanation that WTC7 was deliberately demolished is indeed more credible than the official one, which said 2 planes brought down 3 buildings.
I remember the images of those sorry people waving for help standing in the holes of the Twin Towers.
It is hard for me to believe single planes could bring down the Twin Towers without the help of hundreds of explosives in the buildings, if it was to be a controlled demolition.

CNN reports Zimbabwe's central bank will introduce a $50 billion note - enough to buy just two loaves of bread - as a way of fighting cash shortages amid spiraling inflation.
Zimbabwe is grappling with hyperinflation now officially estimated at 231 million percent, and its currency is fast losing its value.
As of Friday, one U.S. dollar was trading at around ZW$25 billion.
"And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine", see Revelation 6:6.
When the government issued a $10 billion note just three weeks ago, it bought 20 loaves of bread. That note now can purchase less than half of one loaf.
Realizing the worthlessness of the currency, the RBZ has allowed most goods and services to be charged in foreign currency.
As a result, grocery purchases, government hospital bills, property sales, rent, vegetables and even mobile phone recharge cards are now paid for in foreign currency, as the worthless Zimbabwe dollar virtually ceases to be legal tender.
Once a regional economic model, Zimbabwe is in the throes of an economic crisis, with unemployment running at more than 80 percent and many families unable to afford a square meal.
President Robert Mugabe's critics blame his policies for the economic meltdown, but he says the West is sabotaging his efforts.
John Robertson, an economist in Zimbabwe, said he's puzzled by the introduction of the $50 billion and $20 billion notes.
Robertson said: "I am not really sure what these notes would be for. No one now accepts the local currency. It is a waste of resources to print Zimbabwe dollar notes now. Who accepts a currency that loses value by almost 100 percent daily?".
In August, the RBZ slashed ten zeros from the currency. But the zeroes have bounced back with more vigor.
Zimbabwe was once one of the richest countries in Africa.
When the latest $50 billion note also will be worthless, the people of Zimbabwe will have to address the real problem, why they have hyperinflation, and how they can fix it.
I suggest Zimbabwe links its currency to a stable foreign currency like the Euro, freezes government spending, stops to print currency, lifts price controls, and deregulates its economy.

Respondit Iesus et dixit ei: "Amen, amen dico tibi: Nisi quis natus fuerit denuo, non potest videre regnum Dei". (John 3:3)
Tintin - the only reporter who has gained international fame without ever having written an article - today celebrates 80 years!
The most loved figure in cartoon-mad Belgium's history - Tintin - first appeared on January 10, 1929, bound for the Soviet Union, in a weekly supplement to the Roman Catholic Brussels newspaper, Le Vingtieme Siecle.
"Tintin in the land of the Soviets" marked the young reporter's comic book debut.
Twenty-three volumes about the boy reporter, and world fame, were to follow.
Laurence Grove writes Tintin has long been a star on the European Continent, but the cub reporter is almost unheard of in the United States and little more than a cult in the U.K., BBC unveils.
Tintin, Snowy the dog, and his other friends and foes have now long outlived the Soviet Union and the 20th century - as well as their Belgian creator Herge.
More than 200 million Tintin comic books have been sold and Tintin's stories are translated into more than 100 languages and local dialects.
Original editions are sold for up to €40.000 ($55.000).
The most important markets are Belgium, France and the Netherlands, but the Spanish and Scandinavian markets are also significant.
I recommend the Swedish Tintin website of my friend Alf Sallander.
Although Tintin's appeal has proved timeless, his adventures are often touched by history. Tintin battles Al Capone in 1930s Chicago and explores the moon 15 years before Neil Armstrong did.
The anniversary will be marked with the opening of a Herge museum outside Brussels and a Tintin festival in Namur, southern Belgium.
BBC also reports filming is finally to start on a Tintin movie, to be produced by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, apparently a mixture of animation and "real-life" with extended 3-D effects.
With sales of two to three million comic books a year and a Steven Spielberg film in the making, Tintin continues to rack up profits more than 30 years and twenty-four volumes after creator Herge (real name Georges Remi, 1907-1983, whom I have met and who was the neighbor of one of my uncles) drew his final adventure.
Tintin certainly has evolved since the days of his politically incorrect misadventures, and so too has America.
Perhaps in the brave new world of Barack Obama there will be more room for this European octogenarian?

The EUobserver reports that the area surrounding the Atomium - an atom-shaped structure seen on every Brussels postcard - might become a location for some of the European Commission's buildings, according to a draft project developed by the city of Brussels.
This would be an excellent decision!
There will never be too much of the E.U. in Brussels.
The Commission's current buildings policy is to restrain the number of locations under the principle of "fewer and bigger".
The draft, entitled "Application file for the Heysel plain to host a new European quarter", dates back to 15 September 2008.
Placed right next to the Atomium, the Heysel area lies four kilometres north from the centre of the Belgian capital and the European quarter, where the European Commission currently sits.
According to the European Commission's building policy, which dates back to 2007, the accession of 10 new member states in 2004 and of Romania and Bulgaria in 2007 meant that a total of 3.350 additional officials required home and office accommodation in Brussels, as well as nursery and childcare facilities.

Beati mites, quoniam ipsi possidebunt terram. (Matthew 5:5)
In Gaza a third of the victims are less than sixteen years old.
When a religion convinces people to disregard the lives of their own children, then something is very wrong with that religion.
Jesus said: "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly", see John 10:10.

Eum, qui non noverat peccatum, pro nobis peccatum fecit, ut nos efficeremur iustitia Dei in ipso. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
Breitbart reports that signs are mounting that the conflict in Gaza is starting to spill over into violence in Europe's towns and cities, with assaults against Jews and arson attacks on Jewish congregations in France, Sweden, and Britain.
Now terrorists also import the Gaza war to Belgium.
Guysen International News reports that when fighting began in Gaza, Molotov cocktails and stones were thrown against a Synagogue in Charleroi, Belgium.
And two days before a petrol bomb was thrown against a liberal Synagogue in Brussels, on Monday, January 5, an unidentified group had attempted to burn down the home of a Jewish family in Antwerp, Belgium.
Following the growing protest in Antwerp and Brussels against Israel's military offensive in the Gaza strip, the Crisis Centre for Interior Affairs has announced an increased alert, according to Flanders Today.
With daily demonstrations in these cities the situation has become increasingly explosive, Peter Mertens, spokesperson for the Centre reports.
In Antwerp in particular, the virulent Anti-Semitic character of the demonstrations is noticeable.
There is an appeal for a Jihad and support for Hamas, while the Arabic-European League is said to have circulated pamphlets containing quotes from the "prophet" inciting believers to take up arms against the Jews.
This has led to increased police presence to maintain order.
We Christians must stand up for Israel's right to self defense.

Sed et si quid patimini propter iustitiam, beati! Timorem autem eorum ne timueritis et non conturbemini. (1 Peter 3:14)
Billions will die in the West within the next ten years according to the Bible.
Bible prophecy says things will get worse in the Middle East, and then in the whole world.
The only way we in the West can limit the coming destruction of America and Europe, is by supporting Israel's lawful claims to its land.
If Israel does not decide to get control of its Biblical land, it will suffer terrible destruction and occupation for 42 months, see Revelation 11:2, but compare with Revelation 12:16.
The West is unfortunately blind and cannot see clear and therefore does not want to fight for its liberty, which only is possible through Christ, see John 15:5.
Billions of persons in the West, among what is known to be the 11 "lost" tribes of Israel, could be massacred within the next ten years, as it is written:
"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ", see Revelation 12:17.
According to the New Testament, Israel will be the safest place during the "great tribulation", which is described in Matthew 24:21.
And yet, two thirds of the Israeli population will be destroyed, according to Zechariah 13:8.

Ego et Pater unum sumus. (John 10:30)
Pope Benedict XVI said at his Angelus audience on Sunday, January 4: " After the chaos of racing around buying gifts, the Church invites us again to contemplate the mystery of Christ's birth".
According to Catholic Culture the Pontiff observed that, "The Child of Bethlehem reveals and communicates to us the true 'face' of the good and faithful God".
Pope Benedict XVI is absolutely right in his assessment that Jesus is God.
1 John 5:20 states: "And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life".
Titus 2:13 says, "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ", and Romans 9:5 adds: "Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever".
The mystery of God is also given in 1 Timothy 3:16: "God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory".
That the name of Jesus is the Name of God, of the Son of God, is understood from Proverbs 30:4.
"Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?".
This is also explained in Hebrews 1:8, "But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom".
This had been prophesied in Micah 5:2, "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting".
"The word was made flesh", according to John 1:14, and the word is Jesus, see John 1:1, which says that "the Word was with God, and the Word was God".
This was furthermore prophesied in Isaiah 7:14, "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel", and compare with Acts 4:12.
Now, Jesus is "God with us", as explained in Matthew 1:23, "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us".
God was born by a virgin and was fathered by the Holy Spirit since the human semen, from the days of Adam is imperfect: "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned", see Romans 5:12.
For by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead through God, since God's gift is eternal life, see Romans 6:23, and 1 Corinthians 15:53, as it is written: "For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality".
"Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place", see 2 Corinthians 2:14.
"Dicit ei Iesus: 'Tanto tempore vobiscum sum, et non cognovisti me, Philippe? Qui vidit me, vidit Patrem' ", John 14:9.

Haec locutus sum vobis, ut in me pacem habeatis; in mundo pressuram habetis, sed confidite, ego vici mundum. (John 16:33)
We in the West fully understand and support that Israeli troops drive deep into Gaza.
Hamas is an Iranian backed illegal terrorist organization, which has fired 7.000 rockets against civilian targets in Israel since 2005.
Israel has previously shown its good will in the area, when it dragged out all Israeli settlers from Gaza and left the area.
If my childen were threatened by daily rocket attacks against their schools, I would feel the same way as the Jews do in Israel.
Over the past year only two Israelis were killed by Hamas rocket fire. This is true, but the talk about overreaction and proportionality is wrong, as long as children and schools are fired at and targeted by rockets every single day.
No one can say Israel is overreacting, when it wants its children to spend the day at school in another way than in bomb shelters and wearing gas masks.
Israel needs its civilians to be secure.
The only way this can be achieved is by Israel to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, through secured borders, after having driven the terrorists out of what always has been understood to be Israel.
Another cease-fire, which will anyway be broken in a few weeks since Hamas possesses over 10.000 unused rockets, will not create a durable solution with lasting peace.

Et datus est mihi calamus similis virgae dicens: "Surge et metire templum Dei et altare et adorantes in eo". (Revelation 11:1)
Jews have lived in Israel for over 3000 years, and wars have constantly been fought in the Middle East for over 60 years.
Now is the time for the European Union to move in support of Israel, democracy, and freedom.
The E.U. must be very clear in its war policy, that the aim only is to restore Israel to its by God promised Biblical borders, and not to harm for example Saudi-Arabia or other countries in the region which does not occupy Biblical Israel.
Special consideration must also be given to Egypt.
Once Israel is free and liberated, we of course hope the Jewish people, will decide to join the European Union, but that is of course only up to Tzipi Livni and the Israeli people themselves to decide.
The time has come for Israel's enemies and occupiers of the Holy Land to be thrown out: "Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman", see Galatians 4:30.
I suggest the E.U. see to it that Italy and Germany send 10 Divisions each, and that the rest of the E.U. can muster another 20 Divisions, to clear what is Biblical Israel from Muslim terrorists, so the borders are accurately implemented after the maps in the Bible.
These troops will be needed.
In combination with this I also suggest France massively launch nuclear missiles to prepare the way for the troops, and to destroy those who hate both Israel and the West.
A war without the use of nuclear weapons will not be decisive enough, and nobody wants the present situation to continue for another 60 years.
The Nordic countries, Scandinavia and Finland, today possess one third of the European territory.
The E.U. should suggest the Nordics to send specialists and advanced military equipment to help Israel and to give Israel full support in its war on terror.
Sweden could advance the war effort in a significant way, through military operations from space, coordinated from the Esrange Space Center close to Kiruna.
I suggest Belgium - the "lost" tribe of Benjamin - assist in the preparations to build the Third Temple in Jerusalem; and that Scotland - the historical tribe of Levi - send Priests for service in Jerusalem.
All this would be best coordinated and monitored from Brussels by Greece.
As Pope Benedict XVI and the Vatican prepares the transition of the Holy Service back to the Levitical Priesthood, from Rome and back to Jerusalem, which will be completed during the next and the last Pope - according to the words in the New Testament in for example Romans 9:4 - the question whether Jerusalem must be leveled to the ground in order to rebuild the city from scratch, can only be taken by the Israelis themselves.
Jerusalem has always been the capital of the tribe of Judah.
"Deus autem pacis conteret Satanan sub pedibus vestris velociter.
Gratia Domini nostri Iesu Christi vobiscum",
Sed quid dicit Scriptura? "Eice ancillam et filium eius; non enim heres erit filius ancillae cum filio liberae". (Galatians 4:30)
An Israeli ground war in Gaza is the only way to stop Hamas from firing rockets into Israel.
Israel never had a deterrence regime, under which no violence against Israel would be tolerated.
Israel's history in the Middle East is a history of withdrawals and strategic errors.
Israel should fight until it has every inch of what is now occupied Biblical Israel back.
Israel must gain control over greater Israel. That is its God given right.
Until then, limited victories for Israel will only lead to limited world peace.
Unfortunately, God wants the world to have 8.000 more years of wars, see Revelation 2:10, and compare with 2 Peter 3:8.
World peace can only start with Israel having peace.
Israel must get full control over all its land, because we want an enduring and lasting peace, not only in the Middle East, but in the whole world as well.
We should have no illusions when it comes to the borders of Israel. They are clearly defined in the Bible.
Every Christian in the world is for Israel and for Israel's right to its country, as it is explained in the Bible.
The deliverance of Israel, and Israel's right to its own land, which still partly is occupied today, is the main reason why we got the New Testament.
Israeli diplomacy should continue to work for support from the Western world - the eleven "lost" tribes - and from Italy, Germany, Austria, Greece, and Egypt, which all should be considered as closer than friends, all of which are Israel's natural allies and beloved by God, see for example Isaiah 19:24 - 25.
Israel's biggest mistake was leaving Gaza in the first place.
Once Israel left, it could not enforce a no-tolerance policy on Palestinian rockets and mortars.
Israel should fight until it has every inch of Biblical Israel, and perpetual war is the most likely future prospects for Israel and the Middle East.
Once Israel has gained control over its land, the civilian populations will greatly benefit on all sides, because then the political priorities will change from arms to food and schools for children.
It is not just Hamas that wants a perpetual war against Israel, until the Jewish state no longer exists. And it is not only the Muslim world, that wants a perpetual war against Israel, until the Jewish state no longer exists.
But every evil power which does not recognize the power of the God of Israel - Jesus Christ - wants war against Israel.
When will the world understand that God keeps all His promises and that He cannot lie, see Titus 1:2?
When will the world understand that "all power" is given unto Jesus Christ, see Matthew 28:18?

Quae enim participatio iustitiae cum iniquitate? (2 Corinthians 6:14)
The Vatican City State - the world's smallest sovereign state - has decided to set its own laws, and to divorce itself from Italian law.
With effect from New Year's Day 2009, Pope Benedict XVI has decided that the Vatican no longer will automatically adopt laws passed by the Italian parliament.
Vatican legal experts say there are too many laws in Italian civil and criminal codes, and that they frequently conflict with Church principles.
Pope Benedict XVI does the right thing.
"Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives", see Matthew 19:8.
When things in a relationship gets ugly, it is a duty to get divorced according to the New Testament:
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you", see 2 Corinthians 6:14 - 17.
BBC reports that Monsignor Jose Maria Serrano Ruiz, a senior Vatican Canon lawyer, has gone on record as saying that Italian laws are too many, too unstable, and too often conflict with the moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
The Vatican has also decided to scrutinize international treaties before deciding whether or not to adhere to them.
The Vatican recently refused to approve a United Nations declaration decriminalizing homosexuality.
All Italian laws will from now on be examined one by one before they are adopted.
If Italy were to legalize same sex marriages or euthanasia, for example, the Vatican would now be able to refuse to recognize that.

Vetera transierunt, ecce, facta sunt nova. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
The Czech Republic, a former communist country, which became an E.U. member in 2004, on Thursday assumed the rotating six-month Presidency, when it took over the European Union Presidency from France at midnight, Yahoo! News reports.
This is a catastrophe for Europe, especially at a time of financial crisis, the Israel-Palestinian conflict, and the row between Russia and Ukraine over gas prices.
As a Pro-European I am against the idea of Eurosceptics leading the E.U.
The Eurosceptic President Vaclav Klaus, has dismissed the European Presidency as "unimportant", and does not have any special events planned.
The Czech government also refuses to adopt the Euro.
The Czechs have also failed to start the ratification process of the E.U.'s reforming Lisbon Treaty as the last member of the 27-nation bloc.
In the next six months, the Czech Republic will organize a dozen ministerial meetings, and spend almost nothing on the European Presidency.
I agree with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, when he criticizes the Czech President's refusal to fly the E.U. flag.
How big are the chances that Barack Obama would have been elected the next U.S. President, if he had said that the U.S. Presidency is unimportant, and that he wanted to rid America of the U.S dollar, the U.S. constitution, and the American flag, and that he only wanted to organize a dozen meetings during his Presidency?
The Czech E.U. Presidency is a huge scandal, which effectively could end the European Union!
It has been 16 years since the birth of an independent Czech state, but the Czech democracy is not mature enough to lead the E.U.
The only Czech ray of sun is centre-right Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek, who wants to press ahead with the Euro currency adoption and the Lisbon Treaty, while Czech President Vaclav Klaus is a staunch opponent.
The Czechs seem to have very mixed feelings about leading the E.U., to say the least, and it is beyond my comprehension why the European Union allows this circus to take place.
What happens to Europe?
No one ever voted for this clown - Vaclav Klaus - to be our European President.
I want my European President to have won the Presidential election, to represent me, and to respect his office.
I want my European President to love my nation, my flag, my currency, and my constitution.
The rotating E.U. Presidency is a stupid conception, but I hope for a permanent E.U. Presidency in Brussels.
I also hope the E.U. will adopt Latin as official language for the European Union.
