May Day, which usually occurs on May 1 in many countries, stems from ancient customs associated with the celebration of spring. May 1st has become a national holiday for workers in many countries around the world. And American Communists could be seen in a pro Russian march in Chicago 03.22.2014 in front of the Ukrainian embassy.

Via Two Olive Trees: Elijah the Tishbite - Ernest Mauck - passed away on Saturday 19 April 2014, during the Passover period. He was buried on Saturday 26 April 2014. Elijah the Tishbite was the man who convinced me of the Divinity of Christ, when I visited Greece during the Gorbachev era, 25 years ago. My Christian faith eventually led me to renounce Protestantism as I was born a Lutheran, and eventually I became Greek Orthodox in 2011, and baptized Orthodox at Mount Athos (Koutloumousiou monastery). It is here the fun begins. Elijah the Tishbite said to me himself back then 25 years ago: "There are many Elijah. Some say that I'm just a bum. They have rightly understood". The riddle about Elijah is that he prepared a way for something great that is about to happen that few understand. Like John the Baprist died before the resurrection of Christ, Elijah the Tishbite had to die before the appearance of the Two Olive Trees to the masses. But like John the Baptist, Elijah the Tishbite similarly underestimated the power of politics, and especially of leftwing politics. Israel will only be a religious state in peace when the global victory of leftwing politics has conquered the whole world including Israel. Karl Marx said: "Religion is the opium of the people". And of course Karl Marx was right on that, because that is really what the Bible says and what all religions say and why God suffered the death on the cross representing man and religion. Socialism was invented by a Jewish man and only became fruitful in an Orthodox country. Mistakes were made in the first place and Jews and Greeks and Romans in general understood nothing of the revolution and still don't, although they should have. That is however luckily about to change....

Via The Local: A Swedish trainee teacher was asked to leave the classroom because the pupils were about to discuss a film with black actors, and her presence could "inhibit the debate". A teaching student from Malmö University has reported the school in southern Sweden to the country's discrimination ombudsman, after she was treated in a way that she described as "remarkable". "The teacher explained that the class had seen a film where the main characters where young, criminal, black boys, and it was now time for them to discuss the film", the woman wrote in her official complaint. "The teacher said the students would be 'inhibited' by a 'black teacher trainee'". The teacher then proceeded to tell her that she had to leave the class, but maintained that she was welcome to shadow any other classes. "The only thing that stopped me from being in the classroom was my skin colour, nothing else", Hosana Hadgu told Diskrimineringsombudsmannen (DO). "To make a long story short you could say that the school's actions have been, to say the least, remarkable".

Via Disclose.tv: Last week, scientists announced the discovery of Kepler-186f, a planet 492 light years away in the Cygnus constellation. Kepler-186f is special because it marks the first planet almost exactly the same size as Earth orbiting in the "habitable zone", the distance from a star in which we might expect liquid water—and perhaps life. What did not make the news, however, is that this discovery also slightly increases how much credence we give to the possibility of our own near-term extinction. This is because of a concept known as the Great Filter. The Great Filter is an argument that attempts to resolve the Fermi Paradox: why have we not found aliens (or why have they not found us), despite the existence of hundreds of billions of exosolar systems in our galactic neighborhood in which life might evolve? As the namesake physicist Enrico Fermi noted, it seems rather extraordinary that not a single extraterrestrial signal or engineering project has been detected (UFO conspiracy theorists notwithstanding). This apparent absence of thriving extraterrestrial civilizations suggests that at least one of the steps from humble planet to interstellar civilization is exceedingly unlikely. The absence could be because intelligent life is extremely rare, or because intelligent life has a tendency to go extinct. This bottleneck for the emergence of alien civilizations from any one of those billions of planets is referred to as the Great Filter. What exactly is causing this bottleneck has been the subject of debate for more than 50 years. Explanations could include a paucity of Earth-like planets or self-replicating molecules. Other possibilities could be an improbable jump from simple prokaryotic life (cells without specialized parts) to more complex eukaryotic life—after all, this transition took well over a billion years on Earth. Proponents of this "Rare Earth" hypothesis also argue that the evolution of complex life requires an exceedingly large number of perfect conditions. In addition to Earth being in the habitable zone of the Sun, our star must be far enough away from the galactic center to avoid destructive radiation, our gas giants must be massive enough to sweep asteroids from Earth’s trajectory, and our unusually large Moon stabilizes the axial tilt that gives us different seasons. These are just a few prerequisites for complex life. The emergence of symbolic language, tools and intelligence could require other such "perfect conditions" as well. While the emergence of intelligent life could be rare, the silence could also be the result of intelligent life emerging frequently but subsequently failing to survive for long. Might every sufficiently advanced civilization stumble across a suicidal technology or settle into an unsustainable trajectory? We know that a Great Filter prevents the emergence of prosperous interstellar civilizations, but we don’t know whether or not we already cleared it in humanity’s past or if it awaits us in the future. For 200.000 years, humanity has survived supervolcanoes, asteroid impacts, and naturally occurring pandemics. But our track record of survival is limited to just a few decades in the presence of nuclear weaponry. And we have no track record at all of surviving many of the radically novel technologies that are likely to arrive this century. Esteemed scientists such as Astronomer Royal Martin Rees at the Cambridge Centre for the Study of Existential Risk point to advances in biotechnology as being potentially catastrophic. Others, such as Stephen Hawking, Max Tegmark, and Stuart Russell, also with the Cambridge Centre, have expressed serious concern about the exotic but understudied possibility of machine superintelligence. When the Fermi Paradox was initially proposed, it was thought that planets themselves were rare. Since then, however, the tools of astronomy have revealed the existence of hundreds of exoplanets. That seems to be just the tip of the iceberg. But each new discovery of an Earth-like planet in the habitable zone, such as Kepler-186f, makes it less plausible that there are simply no planets aside from Earth that might support life. The Great Filter is thus more likely to be lurking in the path between habitable planet and flourishing civilization. If Kepler-186f is teeming with intelligent life, then that would be really bad news for humanity because it would push back the Great Filter’s position further into the technological stages of a civilization’s development. This would imply that catastrophe awaits both us and our extraterrestrial companions. In the case of Kepler-186f, we still have many reasons to think intelligent life might not emerge. The atmosphere might be too thin to prevent freezing or the planet might be tidally locked, causing a relatively static environment. Discovery of these hostile conditions should be cause for celebration. As philosopher Nick Bostrom once said: The silence of the night sky is golden… in the search for extraterrestrial life, no news is good news. It promises a potentially great future for humanity.

Via The Local: The Swedish government has announced plans to beef up its defense forces by fitting its fleet of Gripen fighter jets with long-range cruise missiles. Defense Minister Karin Enström said the high-precision missiles would chiefly act as a deterrent to other countries that might be considering an attack on Sweden. "They would give new capabilities by offering a longer reach, but also the ability to fight targets that are further away", she told Sveriges Radio (SR) on Thursday. She said the move would "increase the effectiveness" of Sweden’s defense. The cruise missiles would be added to the next generation of Gripen jets, and would be able to cause severe damage to targets 1.000 kilometers away. Current cruise missiles can only travel half that distance. The new missiles can fly at low altitude, have GPS guidance, and can manoeuver like an aircraft. Gunnar Hult, a professor at Sweden's National Defense College, said that increasing the cruise missile fleet is primarily a psychological move. "This is nothing to be concerned about; Sweden wants to build the same capabilities that other countries have built. It’s more of a psychological thing". The Swedish Armed Forces pointed out that other countries in the wider Baltic area, including Finland and Russia, were investing in similar weapons. The new proposal flies in the face of comments from Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, who said last year that cruise missiles would "never be relevant for Sweden. Our defense is a defense". Hult pointed out that Bildt’s comments were made long before Russia moved in on Ukraine. "There is a clear contradiction here. Before the Ukraine crisis, a move like this would have been perceived as quite aggressive. But after Russia’s behavior, Sweden has obviously seen the need to stock up on the missiles", he explained. Madam Enström, meanwhile, claimed that Sweden had to keep up with the ever-changing face of world conflict. Of course Russia cannot be alone in keeping the northern hemisphere harmonious and safe, but needs Sweden as a trustworthy ally and friend. The proposal ruffled feathers with the Green Party (Miljöpartiet). "This is a 180-degree turn compared to their previous approach", Peter Rådberg, the party’s defense policy spokesman, told the Svenska Dagbladet newspaper. He explained that such weapons were "crazily expensive" and were not the kind of offensive weapons needed in a defense force. Hult argued that it was useless to define the guided missiles by their defensive or offensive properties. "It’s not just a defense thing. In fact, the perception that weapons are 'defense or attack' is old-fashioned", Hult told The Local. "There is no static front these days. Modern Russian doctrines say that if war starts then they will strike at depth into any enemy territory". Green Party member Peter Rådberg added that the proposal had not yet reached the hands of the defense committee, and that he imagined it would only pass if the Alliance won the elections in September. The future of Sweden lies to the south and to the west. A strong Swedish defense in combination with a close military alliance with our Byzantine friend Russia, and the Brics group, would serve this nation well. The price tag must nevertheless be met whilst keeping the power and balance in the northern European region under Swedish dominance. Hopefully, with the upcoming E.U. and national elections the Swedish leftwing party Vänsterpartiet will gain important influence and make up the new Swedish government. Then there will be less tensions overall and the Green Party is also a good future government coalition partner. Before WW2 Sweden was the 4th strongest military power in Europe and things should of course be kept that way. After all, Sweden is the old Israeli military tribe Naphtali. We know how to make the world a safer and better place for all.

Via The Local: Anyone hoping for a one-room apartment in Sweden will have to wait an average of 2.5 years, but the wait is far worse in Stockholm, new statistics showed on Tuesday. The Swedish Union of Tenants (Hyresgästföreningen) found in a new review that queues for open-term rental contracts were long nationwide. A one-room apartment, on average, required that home hunters stood in the queue for two and a half years. "Imagine comparing these queues to other things in life", report author Jonas Hagetoft said in a statement. "In two and a half years you could have two children or sail around the world almost three times". While studios remained property-market gold for first-time home hunters, the average national wait for a four-room home was even longer. To secure a contract for a family-sized flat of that size took on average four and a half years to secure, the tenants union found. The organization found that the wait was longer in thriving and urbanizing areas, where the average wait for a four-room home was close to six years. The queue for a home in Stockholm stretches out the furthest, to seven and a half years. "If you're recently divorced then it's an eternity". Long queue times will come as no surprise to home hunters who have tried to crack the system in Sweden. Last year, a Stockholm woman finally got the keys to her dream home after a 28-year wait.

Via The Local: A Swedish MP who launched an official government investigation into the existence of chemtrails tells The Local why he thinks Swedes deserve the truth, even if it may leave some conspiracy theorists unsatisfied. "I can't speak for other MPs, but I've had many, many calls over the past eight years about chemtrails. And these questions are not so easy to answer", Jan Lindholm, Green Party MP, told The Local. The queries came from Swedes who were "worried and afraid" about the white trails behind aeroplanes. Many callers were concerned, he said, that the planes were leaving poisonous gases. Conspiracy theorists suggest that governments are behind the trails, which they claim are a deadly concoction of heavy metals. "It's an attempt to geo-engineer the planet. We're talking weather control here", one chemtrail enthusiast told The Local on condition of anonymity. Lindholm, tired of getting the same questions and not knowing how to answer them, took matters into his own hands. He contacted Sweden's weather agency SMHI, the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration (Luftfartsverket) and the air force. Unsatisfied with their responses, he requested an official probe from Sweden's Parliamentary Investigative Service (Riksdagens Utredningstjänst, RUT). "They studied it, perhaps for a few hours, I don't know, and they managed to give me a clear answer. Now, if someone asks me, I can answer", he explained. "I tell them that as far as I know - and I have seen the work done by serious scientists - chemtrails probably don't exist, and probably can't exist". While the investigation was completed in late 2012, it was only made public this week, reported Nyheter24 news site. Lindholm, who described himself as "an old man with an active curiosity", dismissed further claims that the study was a waste of time. "As an elected person, it is my responsibility to listen. I can't ignore people, I have to try and give them answers", he told The Local.

"We are sure that the use of force to ease the situation in southeastern [Ukraine] is unacceptable", Lavrov told reporters after a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. "We categorically condemn and demand the cease of so-called initiatives to send security forces and army divisions that are in breach of the norms of Ukrainian and international law to quash protests", the Russian Foreign Minister added. Lavrov arrived in China for a working visit Tuesday to discuss preparations for President Vladimir Putin's visit to the country scheduled for May, in addition to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. The Russian Foreign Minister thanked China for its unbiased stance on events in Ukraine, adding that the key to solving the crisis lies in constitutional reform for the country. Moscow has demanded Ukrainian authorities stop initiatives to crackdown on protests in the country's southeastern regions, and now awaits an objective assessment on the situation in the Ukrainian city of Slaviansk from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Lavrov said. Lavrov said Kiev's proposal to invite UN peacekeepers to solve the situation in southeastern Ukraine is "over the top", adding that the Kiev authorities are "inventing fables" to justify their "aggressive intentions".
Via EUobserver: Russia spends more on arms compared to its GDP than the US and European countries, according to fresh figures released Monday (14 April) by SIPRI (Stockholm International Peace Research Institute), a military spending research group. The U.S. remains the world's top military spender in gross terms (€460bn), but its spending decreased by over 7 percent compared to the previous year, mainly because of the withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan. Also in proportional terms, U.S. military spending represents only 3.8 percent of its GDP, while Russia (€63.4bn) has increased its arms budget to 4.1 percent of GDP in 2013, compared to 3.5 percent in 2004. Russia’s spending has risen as it continues to implement the State Armaments Plan for 2011–20, under which it plans to spend 20.7 trillion roubles (€403bn) on new and upgraded armaments. The goal is to replace 70 percent of equipment with "modern" weapons by 2020. Ukraine, on the brink of a war with the Russian neighbor, has also increased its military spending by 16 percent compared to the previous year. China, the world's second-largest military spender, has also upped its budget to an estimated €135 billion in 2013, representing two percent of its GDP, according to SIPRI. There are four European countries in the top 15 of largest military spenders in the world. France (€44bn), which last year ranked fourth after Russia, has now slipped behind Saudi Arabia, on rank five. Compared to 2004-2013, France has slashed its military budget by 6.4 percent. Britain is behind France, with €41 billion in military spending, a decrease by two percent compared to the previous decade. Germany, ranking seventh in the world (€35.2bn), is the only European country to have increased its military spending compared to 2004-2013, by 3.8 percent. Italy, by contrast, has slashed its arms spending by 26 percent, ranking 11th in the world with a budget of €23.6 billion in 2013. Falls of over 10 percent in military spendig since 2008 have also been recorded in Austria, Belgium, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and the UK, as well as all countries in central Europe except Poland and Estonia.

Via Disclose.tv: After a recent photograph of Mars ignited speculation that the Red Planet was home to intelligent life, NASA has come out with several different explanations for the mysterious light captured by the agency’s rover. As RT reported earlier this week, on April 3 the Curiosity rover managed to take a picture with its right-hand navigation camera that seemed to show a beacon of light emanating from the planet’s surface. Unfortunately for those excited by the possibility of discovering alien life forms, however, NASA poured some cold water onto the idea. "One possibility is that the light is the glint from a rock surface reflecting the sun," NASA imaging scientist Justin Maki said to the Houston Chronicle. "When these images were taken each day, the sun was in the same direction as the bright spot, west-northwest from the rover, and relatively low in the sky". In a statement made to Space.com, Maki added another possibility, that the light could be caused by the way sunlight managed to hit Curiosity’s camera.
Via The Local: A 45-year-old woman has been sentenced to life imprisonment for killing a 59-year-old Swedish-born professor who was found dead in his home in Houston, Texas in June 2013, after having been stabbed repeatedly with a stiletto heel. The woman claimed that she had been acting in self-defence. "I never wanted to kill him", she said. The victim, Alf Stefan Andersson, had worked as a professor of women's reproductive health at the University of Houston since 2009. When he was found bloody and beaten in his apartment in the city, his body, both the face and neck, bore traces of having been stabbed with the sharp end of a 13 centimeter high heel at least 25 times. His girlfriend, 44-year-old Ana Lilia Trujillo, was arrested shortly afterwards and promptly admitted to the attack, claiming self defence and arguing that she was the victim of an abusive relationship. She told the court that on the evening of the murder he wrestled her to the ground and her lawyers claimed that she had been chased. "It was never my intention to hurt him. I loved him. I wanted to get away. I never wanted to kill him", she said, according to the BBC. The jury however went on the prosecutor's line of reasoning and concluded that the crime had been committed. They furthermore concluded that the killing had not occurred on the spur of the moment, which could have meant the prison sentence being reduced from 45 to 20 years. Jurors concluded that the some 25 stab wounds that the man had sustained could not be considered self-defence, pointing out furthermore that the woman had not sustained any injuries. News of Andersson's death left officials at the University of Houston reeling. "The University of Houston community is saddened to learn of the tragic death of Professor Stefan Andersson". "Our hearts go out to his colleagues, family and friends during this difficult time", the university said in a statement at the time.

And, according to NASA, a highly unusual "Tetrad" - four successive total "blood-red" lunar eclipses each followed by six full moons - will, indeed, start next Tuesday and finish on September 28, 2015. The incredible alignment has only happened a handful of times in the last two thousand years but, remarkably, on each of the last three occasions it has coincided with a globally significant religious event. Pastor and author John Hagee, from San Antonio, Texas, has written a book on the phenomenon. He believes it marks the dawn of a "hugely significant event" for the world. He says: "This is not something that some religious think tank has put together". "NASA has confirmed that the Tetrad has only happened three times in more than 500 years - and that it's going to happen now". The first Tetrad since the Middle Ages, in 1493, saw the expulsion of Jews by the Catholic Spanish Inquisition, which rocked western Europe. The second coincided with the establishment of the State of Israel - after thousands of years of struggle - in 1949. Strangely, the last one occurred in 1967 - far earlier than expected - precisely at the time of the Six-Day Arab–Israeli War. A spokesman for NASA said: "This is the first eclipse of the year and is well placed for observers throughout the Western Hemisphere. It will occur at the lunar orbit's ascending node in Virgo. This is the first of four consecutive total lunar eclipses in 2014 and 2015 - a series known as a Tetrad". He added: "The frequency of Tetrads is variable over time. Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli first pointed out that Tetrads were relatively plentiful during one 300-year interval, while none occurred at all during the next 300 years. The 565-year period of the Tetrad 'seasons' is tied to the slowly decreasing eccentricity of Earth's orbit. In the distant future Tetrads will no longer be possible". The last Tedrad occurred in 1967 during the Six-Day Arab–Israeli War [AFP]. Mr Hagee explains: "According to the Biblical prophecy, world history is about to change dramatically".

Via WWTDD: Miley Cyrus claims that she’s been left devastated by the death of her dog, Floyd, after he was reportedly snatched away in the night by coyotes, and she’s been coping with the loss by crying about it on Twitter and at her recent shows. The horny, pot-loving singer has even dedicated renditions of Floyd’s favorite songs to him during her shows, all for the sake of helping her cope with the gigantic hole in her heart. She also got a new dog that she was spotted with in New York after her show on Saturday night, where she was so depressed that she could barely grind on a car hood without breaking down.
Via Disclose.tv: Before Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 went missing, sea trash was not a global headliner. But as hundreds of objects sighted off the Australian coast as possible aircraft debris turn out to be discarded fishing equipment, cargo container parts, or plastic shopping bags, a new narrative is emerging in the hunt for the missing plane: There's more garbage out there than you think. Most of it is plastic. And marine life ingests it, with catastrophic consequences. "This is the first time the whole world is watching, and so it's a good time for people to understand that our oceans are garbage dumps", says Kathleen Dohan, a scientist at Earth and Space Research in Seattle, Washington, who maps ocean surface currents. "This is a problem in every ocean basin".
Via The Local: "Many now say that you shouldn't walk around alone after 8pm", said Moussa Kasim, who has lived in Finspång for two years. He called the police after he saw the vandalized cars and spray-painted swastikas as he returned from morning prayers at a nearby mosque on Sunday morning. "I guess it's against migrants, some sort of 'Sweden for Swedes' logo", Kasim said of the swastikas. "After seven years on the run, finally we felt safe. So this is ironic. I've started looking over my shoulder again".

Via WWTDD: I’m pretty sure every woman has a sex tape or naked photos of themselves floating around the Internet somewhere. If my mom called and told me we had to talk, I’d slam the phone down before she could cry about a clip of her and Sam the Butcher getting jiggy on 4Chan. Demi Lovato hasn’t been right since Barney made her do nasty from me to you kisses with Baby Bop in the playhouse. She inherited an eating disorder from her mom. By nine she was choking out her Oscar Meyer snack packs to keep her junior muffin top at bay. Then came cutting and drugs and worst of all, sex with Wilmer Valderrama. That right there should be enough to make you send back the lunch you already ate. Now, somebody’s shopping her sex tape and leaking out pictures that sure do look like her showing all kinds of human like intimacy and some titties. I’d say she made some unfortunate decisions in her life, but that’d just be the drugs talking. Hers, not mine. I think the bigger lesson learned here is that Corey Feldman has been right all along. Hollywood is a bunch of creepy sex fiends and pedophiles and opportunists looking to get over on stage kids either too young or too fucked up to know any better. I’m not blaming Wilmer, he lacks the intellectual capacity to be a conspirator. I’m going to go ahead and blame Demi’s mom, for being mental. And also for pushing her daughter into stardom when going to school, meeting cute boys, and maybe going on to be an interior decorator would’ve perhaps proved healthier. But that’s just me being all judgmental while I stare at Demi’s tits.

Via Disclose.tv: There are scientists who think we have unlimited powers of which we are unaware of. It is possible to expand traditional science to include human consciousness and human intention to such a degree that we can change what we define as "physical reality"? Professor William A. Tiller is someone many people would describe as a scientist ahead of his time. Among many things, Professor Tiller is convinced that we can evolve our mind and emotions to such an extent that we actually influence our daily lives in physical reality. In other words, he suggests that our thoughts can change reality. He also has a different view on the human body and the nature of consciousness. Professor Tiller sees humans as spirits dressed in bio-body suits and we enormous powers of which we are unaware. According to Tiller, consciousness is a byproduct of spirit entering dense matter. We have the power to change physcial reality with our thoughts. In order to be able to explore our full powers, we must first understand who and what we are. To Professor Tiller we are more than just flesh and blood beings. "We are all spirits having a physical experience as we ride the river of life together". Our spiritual parents dressed us in these bio-body suits and put us in this playpen that we call a universe in order to grow in coherence, develop our gifts of intentionality, and become what we intended to become-co-creators with our spiritual parents. Consciousness is a byproduct of spirit entering dense matter. Professor Tiller makes clear that everyone can with simply means successfully develop his or her powers. In order to influence our physical reality, we must first find a purpose with our life. "You have to give it meaning in your life. You have to be willing to suspend judgment, go forward, work with it-and see what happens. Be an open-minded individual and learn as much as you can about it and develop yourself inside. Learn meditative techniques. Learn to become inner self-managed and you will find there are other universes within yourself to be explored".

Via Yahoo! News: The iPhone 6 has already been the subject of several concept designs and other mockups, but a French site claims to have obtained what could be actual leaked photos of Apple's new flagship device. And if they're real, it looks like you may be able to floss with the handset. Sporting rounded edges and a barely-there profile, the new images from French site Nowwhereelse.fr show an iPhone that has almost no bezel on the sides and a considerably taller display. The screen apparently measures 4.7 inches diagonally...
